Tooty Townsend bore a child at the age of 16. Now, four years later, she has her hands full raising Harris and trying to make a living.

Reclusive author Maxwell Henry, aka Miles Brightman, is looking to hire a personal assistant while in Colorado finishing up his latest suspense thriller.

Sarah Tanner, stepmother to Tooty's best friend, Julie, and a friend of Miles, recommended her to the author. Unfortunately, Harris climbed onto the guy's lap at Julie and Jacob's wedding reception and asked him to take him for a ride in his wheelchair. Then he asked him to marry his mommy and become his daddy!

sweet little April-September romance

She’s still very young-20, with a 4 yr old son. He’s a 38 yr old author who is attracted to and very much cares about his new personal assistant.
The problem isn’t only their age difference- he’s in a wheelchair and doesn’t feel he can offer anyone a life.
I really LOVE Tooty’s dialogue with Monica (and Mrs Brightman) about being jealous and spiteful.
The story almost seems too naive, then Clay surprises you. But you can enjoy the HEA at the end with the characters:)
I liked this so much, I purchased additional Clay books.
Araya does a good job of narration.

Who Loves You Baby

Baby Kisses
: Verna Clay

A sappy sweet story of two people that probably should never even consider a relationship, or it could be that opposites really do attract.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Jennifer Jill Araya.

Baby Kisses

I have enjoyed this series. Stubborn characters, some mystery and suspense, romance and a cute kid. What more can I say?
Narration was good. Hope there will be more books!

Left me smiling

Cute story with an adorable kid and a young mother who has her sights set on an older man. He feels to old for her and because of his age and the fact that he's in a wheelchair he pushes her away until she convinces him there is nothing wrong with a May December relationship.
I could find nothing wrong with this story, the sex scene is tame and the characters lovable.

Jennifer Jill Araya does a wonderful narration. she helps bring the characters to life.

Baby Kisses

Baby Kisses is such a sweet clean romantic story. Tooty is a very strong young woman who has had her share of challenges in her young life, but she never let that stop her. At 20 years old, she’s doing her best to support herself and her 4 year old son. She takes a job as a personal assistant for a reclusive author, and at almost the same time finds out she’s received an inheritance from a distant relative. I loved how the secrets revealed in her inheritance seem to parallel her own life.

Beautifully written and beautifully narrated.

Cute kids...

This is book 3 in the series but it's the first one that I've listened to. I didn't feel like I was missing anything so this can be listened to as a standalone.

It was a bit cliche at times. The whole relationship seemed a bit forced, they really didn't interact much with each other. I didn't like how Tootsie and Miles came together in the end. While the very end is sweet the rest of the book isn't and the ending feels like it was just shoved on to the end it didn't evolve from the rest of the story.

We didn't learn much about the characters, there was no real development, and there was little to no growth during the book.

The blurb shows a lot of potential but none of it was realised. The book is OK if you're prepared to ignore the glaring plot holes.

The narrator did a good job with the character voices, the delivery was well-paced and nice to listen to

My first one!

I have never listened to Verna Clay and I am glad to have taken the chance! This is the story of Tooty, a 20 year old woman with a 4 year old son. She is determined to make the best of it, and when she is looking for a job meets Miles, an author that she admires. As his assistant, she is able to work and spend time with her son. Miles is 38 years old, so there is no chance of a romance....or is there? found the story an easy listen and the underlying theme of love no matter the circumstance is beautiful. The inclusion of Annabelle's diary makes this romance all the sweeter. Hearing Eli and Annabelle's story is a bonus! I will now go back and listen to the first two in the series, I have to hear the other couples who find their romance on the ranch!

This is my first narration by Jennier Jill Araya and I found her voice appealing. She is talented, keeping her pacing and her voices are easily identifiable. I hope to see more from her in the future.

Just okay

I enjoyed the performance. The story itself was just okay for me. I didn't really feel a connection to the characters. I did enjoy the parallel story with the diary.
