Surprise pregnancy

I normally love a surprise pregnancy trope, but this one hit a bit different. I think they spent way too much of the book deciding what to do…we get the point - you weren’t planning on this and you’ve got so much life to live - but honestly what did you think was gonna happen?! ….i almost DNF due to the way it droned on and on about will they or won’t they… If talk about abortion is triggering to you, I wouldn’t recommend reading because the characters spend a good chunk deciding whether or not to get one. Ultimately, I’m glad I finished, it did have a good ending. I think it just wasn’t really what I was expecting. The MMC is just the best in this book. I will say that! He was sooo supportive and sweet. The FMC was a little harder to like. I’m sure some readers will just love this book, but for me it was probably my least favorite of the series so far. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Loved this cowboy romance from start to finish

Duke is the fourth book in the Lucky River Ranch series by Jessica Peterson, and boy does it deliver in heart, heat and humor. Emphasis on the heart with this one!

Duke is a small town, accidental pregnancy romance set on the Lucky River Ranch in Texas. On the surface, small town cowboy Duke and city girl Wheeler don't seem like a match made in heaven, but they certainly are from the moment that they met. Duke knows it, too, but Wheeler pumps the breaks on their attraction. Lucky for us, all she does is delay the inevitable because they are such a fantastic match.

Wheeler certainly makes Duke work for their happily ever after, but not because she doesn't believe in him; because she doesn't believe in herself! Once she opens up to Duke, once she's willing to accept his support and his love, they prove to be a perfect pair, just like the high-end boots she designs!

The banter and the chemistry between these two was on full display from page one. The audio, narrated by Lila Winters and Stephen Dexter, is a great way to experience this romance. The voice actors bring so much emotion and life to the words that Jessica Peterson wrote. So saddle up and dive in - you won't regret it!

Back to Hartsville for Wheeler & Duke

Absolute perfection! Wheeler & Duke captured my heart and soul. Together they just click. They are the perfect blend of intoxicating chemistry, swoon, sass, witty banter, laughs, feels, and an abundance of steam. I loved how they weren't perfect and had to overcome some challenges in the story. And the ending . . . *muffled squealing* I can't talk about it because I don’t want to spoil it for you but it was so fabulous and perfect! Duke has immediately moved to the top of the book boyfriends list. The way he's so selfless and caring. I can't deal. I love this man. I highly recommend reading this book AND the entire series! 
 
Lila Winters & Stephen Dexter do an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions, attitude and personality. They do more than giving their characters their voices, they fall into the roles and become the character.
