Emotional & gripping love story

Wow! I honestly didn't know what to expect from this book. This is my first book by D.J. Krimmer and I understand the obsession with her writing now. This was a couple I was rooting for from the very beginning & HOLY SMOKES, does she know how to write an MC that you will absolutely MELT for! Sean Masters was everything you guys! EVERYTHING in this. He & Maxine give extremely raw, powerful & emotional performances in this one & I was just absolutely BLOWN away!

Ozzy has been through hell & back, truly! She's a woman who has suffered so much both physically & mentally. She's in a constant state of panic & fear due to her PTSD but this woman doesn't even realize the strength she truly possesses. She's built up walls to close herself off from human connection & love. When she takes a job as a nurse on a cowboy ranch taking care of a dying man, she has no idea what Jackson Rowe is gonna do to her! This man has a sharp tongue & even sharper abs but he slowly is able to peel back the layers of fear, insecurity & forgotten self-worth that she's been holding onto for years.

Ya'll, Jackson Rowe did me in! No joke! He is grumpy beyond anything but when he meets Ozzy, this rough rancher with a strong & tough exterior just becomes putty in her hands. He makes it his mission to slowly & carefully help her heal from her past trauma. They build a genuine & quite intimate friendship that slowly grows as they fall into each other. They way Jackson is so gentle & soft with Ozzy just made me absolutely fall for this man. I was swooning to high heaven over him & Sean Masters was my undoing!

This truly is such a beautiful story about healing, learning to trust again & finding the people who you can call your own.

🎤Let's talk audio: I truly don't think I've heard a more emotional performance from either of these actors. Sean freakin Masters is at the top of his game & he just continues to soar in the audiobook industry. He's become a "must listen" narrator for me. He is SO gifted & talented. The softness that he brings to Jackson's character just got me all up in my feels. He and Maxine both give such vulnerable performances. Ozzy was strong & sassy and Maxine just NAILED this baby! I adored Ozzy's character & the strong will but softness she possessed. Sean really is able to bring a balance to Jackson's character that gives you both strength & tenderness. These two had such amazing chemistry & their story telling absolutely STELLAR!

The most powerful audiobook I ever heard!

This audiobook resonated deeply with my emotions, touching upon a range of experiences from a strict childhood with my father, who passed away, to my mother’s battle with breast cancer. It also addressed the loss of my love before I turned 39, who had endured significant trauma. It’s a powerful listen that evokes a range of emotions, from tears to laughter and smiles. Both narrators are exceptional, but the writing itself was exceptionally well-crafted. I highly recommend this book to many people before even finishing it. Please take the time to listen, pay attention, and be patient with those in your life who are struggling with trauma.

Oh my god

This duet style audiobook was INCREDIBLE. No one can bring a traumatized FMC to life like Maxine Mitchell. And Sean Masters is so talented that he can voice such a variety of characters in a single book (including the men who traumatized FMC) and be so different that you’re swooning over MMC.

DJ Krimmer has done it again. I didn’t expect to come across a book that offers such a full range of emotions—humor, awe-inspiring moments, anger, heartbreak, and love—all woven into a single story.

Maxine Mitchell and Sean Masters truly bring Ozzy and Jackson to life in an incredible way. Their performances made me feel every emotion so vividly, as if I were part of the journey myself.

This is a beautifully written story that’s absolutely worth the listen. Keep tissues close—you’ll likely need them. DJ Krimmer’s writing stands out as truly unique, but it’s important to check the tw beforehand, as the story does touch on some sensitive topics.
