Amazing book

This book was awesome. The writing style, narration, character development, world building, and overall idea are awesome. I love the production of this and I can’t wait to see what happens next. I Definitely recommend this book.

Superb

MC gets lucky and finds a item that grants him power.
not much new there.
what makes this book stand out is the characters, they have depth and texture, they aren't just there to drive the plot forward, they all got personality and quirks.

Worth the credit, look forward to the next

Very solid first book. The hammer was a bit annoying at times and seems like a direct rip off of Frank from thr Ripple System books. But other than that I enjoyed and would recommend

Solid Story, Stellar Narration

Overall, Riftside 1 is a solid read, and I’d have no hesitation recommending it. While it didn’t fully align with my personal preferences, it still delivered an enjoyable experience.

That said, I don’t think it’s fair to compare it to titles like Primal Hunter or He Who Fights With Monsters. Those books hit about 90–95% of what I look for in terms of story and plot—they’re much closer to my ideal. Riftside 1, by contrast, landed around 70% for me. It didn’t quite check all the boxes I typically seek out as a listener, but it’s still a well-crafted book with plenty to appreciate.

Couldn't put it away and listened 15h straight

In short I couldn't put it away and ended up listening the whole audiobook in two sessions of 15h + 8h.

Really great fantasy with solid LitRPG elements that don't overwhelm as they sometimes can do - there's no 5 minute stat sections.
Story itself is wonderful, very well rounded and it's about much more than just killing monsters.

Production and performance is the usual great Soundbooth Theater quality.
It enhanced the story and never took me away from it.

One Hammer to rule them all!!

This was a fun listen!! It's a bit of a different take on the LitRPG genre. I'd say it leans toward normal fantasy with some game mechanic progression. Good development of the characters. Also a fun (and bloodthursty hammer!). Seems to flesh out the world enough to set up future books. Will definitely also listen to the next one!! :D

Narration was excellent as usual from the people at Soundbooth.

Fun and Funny

Riftside is LitRPG Fantasy flavored with dungeon crawling, monster part gear forging, and some light hearted character interactions. I especially like how this book handles exposition. Just the right amount of explanation in the right places without the annoying easy cop out tricks a lot of books in the genre fall into.

It's fun and entertaining.

The narration in this book is top quality. Justin and Jeff are hilarious. The character writing is cute and the narrators and sound design really bring the story to life!

If you're new to LitRPGs you should definitely make this your starting point.
