What a surprise! This was a really good listen. I enjoyed the progression of ash and his hammer. Lots of great battles.

Worth the credit, look forward to the next

Very solid first book. The hammer was a bit annoying at times and seems like a direct rip off of Frank from thr Ripple System books. But other than that I enjoyed and would recommend

Consistently bad audio recording volume from narrators and/or other items that they perform are mismatched in volume types I listened in a car this was a horrendous performance

This was a fun listen!! It's a bit of a different take on the LitRPG genre. I'd say it leans toward normal fantasy with some game mechanic progression. Good development of the characters. Also a fun (and bloodthursty hammer!). Seems to flesh out the world enough to set up future books. Will definitely also listen to the next one!! :D

Narration was excellent as usual from the people at Soundbooth.

Couldn't put it away and listened 15h straight

In short I couldn't put it away and ended up listening the whole audiobook in two sessions of 15h + 8h.

Really great fantasy with solid LitRPG elements that don't overwhelm as they sometimes can do - there's no 5 minute stat sections.
Story itself is wonderful, very well rounded and it's about much more than just killing monsters.

Production and performance is the usual great Soundbooth Theater quality.
It enhanced the story and never took me away from it.

My only issue is the romance, a bit too much time enforcing the couples love upon me... I get it, she's a good woman, move on to the Crafting, fighting and world issues, excellent performance from the audio team.

Great but

Overall liked the story.

My only issue is when Jeff gets a bit too much into making the monster voices. Literally could not understand what was said (wasn't an accent issue btw) , had to purchase the book to understand what amounted to 20 lines of dialog. I love what soundbooth does to make books feel more immersive, but I like understanding what's being said more.

Amazing book

This book was awesome. The writing style, narration, character development, world building, and overall idea are awesome. I love the production of this and I can’t wait to see what happens next. I Definitely recommend this book.

Maybe Later

The story is great, and for the most part, the narration is effective. I got 11 hours left and had to stop. I listen with Headphones and MY GOD IS ROCK OVER DONE WITH HIS NARRATION!!!! Ruins the book to some degree. I had to take a break, buyer beware great story but one of the narrators over does his role with a being called Rock. The non stop screaming is overdone. I normally like SBT, but they overdid it. May or may not finish the book, Just hard when you wear airpods and someone is screaming half the time you listen.
