It's nice ...but its gimicky

I like the story. In fact I love this kind of story, but there's things in this one that annoy me. This artificial sense of drama built up around keeping ur stats n whatnot private. It's not really that original. A lot of books include some sense of importance around keeping ur info private, but this book focuses on it waaaaaay too much ...n it also doesn't do a great job of making it feel organic with the story. It feels forced the way it's done n it breaks my immersion. It detracts from the story for me. Like, instead of adding depth to the story it feels like an annoying distraction that the author keeps circling back to. Like, geez give it a rest already.
That's my 2 cents. I still like the story, but I just recognize that this aspect of it cud be a lot better.

Good but not great

This book has a lot of potential and I really liked how the writer develops the magic system. The biggest caring problem however is that constant 5 minute Stat updates..... Make them a chapter I can skip and don't include changes into the Stat update.... It's toiling sitting there listening to the narrator read of numbers for minutes at a time.

I really enjoyed that the MC wasn't over powered from the start and actually built himself up

re reading the status sheet gets old after a while. maybe they could just recap the changes

Good story, painful narration

Love the story, I've read it before publishing, but it's been a while so I thought I'd get the audiobook.
This was better with a free tts text scraper.
Why do all the females sound like they're four years old? Why do a select few people who grew up in the city have southern drawls? Why do family members have different accents? I'll finish the book, but I won't be purchasing any further books in the series. I'll keep the memory of the story I read in the past rather than continue to listen to whatever this is.

its a good story but

the narrator of the woman voice is annoying. its like she speaks in a extremely slow. wished they wished they would either replace her or asked to speak like normal. also the 5-10m stats sheet is annoying. I have to skip because sometimes is almost every chapter. Just tell us what changed not the whole dane thing. its awful. cut that down story is ok

good book but

Good book but to many stats... less stats please. The story itself is interesting and I'm going to try the next book.

I love the book good plot, twists and action the only real problem I have is how long and boring reading the stats was besides that I can’t wait for book 2

Stats stats stats

There’s about a 5 min long stat run down(I’m on 2x speed so holy hell) every two or three chapters it seems. An exaggeration but one that’s deserved. And also if they have a female narrator on the book why is the male narrator voicing so many female sounding roles, like the system is obviously female sounding but had the male narrator do an annoying performance rather than a normal decent one using a male sounding voice, or just use the female narrator for that part. And the story doesn’t seem to have been run through an editor and it shows with plot points sort of just popping up and not, especially the romance that just got dropped and tagged as a friends with benefits, while the author propped it up to be a more major thing in the beginning with how she stayed by his bed for so long while unconscious. Idk it’s good just a bit lackluster and could be great which is what bothers me the most

Listened on 1.1 to help balance the slow girl reads

The guys voices are the only ones that are easy to listen too. The girls sound like they are reading unknown words for the first time.
Biggest issue is the constant slow reiteration of all the skills just to say he gained 1 level. Hopefully that’s fixed in the next book.
The story is really good though.

great story

I really enjoyed the story. The mc was not too overpowered and grew throughout the story. The magic system is different from most and not just a clone from other stories.

The male narrator was great, the female narrator sound like she just learned how to read. It was very distracting.

I plan on continuing the series and highly recommend it.
