Such a tattletale 😜

This audio was fantastic! The narrator’s brought so much emotion and depth to the characters throughout the book.

pick this up Now...

Loved the story line with this series. Quick witted characters. I listened to this book in one day, I was like I can't turn it off. Narrators that were picked for this book were awesome. I love Kay Cove books, she knows how to spin a story with ease. You get immersed into the world she creates.

More twist, more intrigue and more moments

I honestly felt like this book was stronger than the first one overall. The beginning did feel a bit rushed, especially since there wasn’t much background given right away, and I didn’t fully connect with Lance and Cricket’s history until the middle of the book when their past friendship and emotional layers started to unfold. Once that happened, everything clicked more for me, and I became way more invested in their relationship and the story.

Plot-wise, I definitely enjoyed this one more than The Whistleblower. There were more twists, more intrigue, and more moments that kept me engaged. I also liked the little Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the story. Kay does a great job with interconnections, even if some of the dots were pretty easy to connect. And while I still enjoyed Linc and Eden’s story from book one, Lancelot and Cricket's story just felt more dynamic and layered in comparison.

That said, this still isn’t my favorite from Kay. I’ve loved other series by her much more, and while this was a solid, entertaining read, it didn’t fully hit that “unputdownable” level for me. Still, it had strong characters, a fun found-family vibe, and a lovable golden retriever MMC, which always works for me.
