Val

When I was nine, I went to my first funeral. Along with accepting my father's death, I had to accept new and awful truths I wasn't prepared for.

When I was nineteen, I went to my mother's funeral. We weren't close, but with her gone, I became more alone than ever before.

Sure, I have a half-brother who runs The Alliance. And yeah, he's given me his protection—in the form of a bodyguard and chauffeur. But I don't have anyone that really knows me. No one to really love me.

Until I meet him. The man in the airport.

When one chance meeting turns into something hotter, something more serious, I let myself believe that maybe he's the one. Maybe this man is the one who will finally save me from my loneliness. The one to give me the family I've always craved.

Dom

The Mafia is in my blood. It's what I do. So when that blood is spilled, and one funeral turns into three, drastic measures need to be taken.

When this battle turns into a war, I'm going to need more men. More power. I'm going to need The Alliance.

And I'll become a member. By any means necessary.

By far my favorite in the Alliance so far. Dom checked off every morally gray MMC box - and had me SWOONING from start to finish. He will make red any reader’s new favorite color. And Val… sweet sweet Val had my heart absolutely breaking. I adored every moment of her story.

The spice was SPIIIICING… thigh clenching goodness that had me THIRSTY for more. The passion was top tier and their insta lust will have you MELTING.

Audiobook narration by Jack Calihan & Chloe Ryan was fantastic as usual. I am constantly amazed that they are able to give each character unique voices despite narrators staying the same throughout the series.

Great narrators, story was amazing and I loved the funny moments that she sneaks into these serious characters

Don freaking did it so hot morally grey as they come he out did Nero and King literally had my jaw dropped flabbergasted at some of the stuff he said checks red and feet kicking this was my man! And not a slow burn like king… a couple chapters boom hot!!! Only thing is they really should have gotten someone else to do the males voice someone that could do a Hispanic accent this guy didn’t live up to the character of they could have gotten someone else 10/10 forsure

Holy crap

The story is just dark enough with morbid showing of affection between characters. The female lead isn't as pathetic and unbearable as so many I have read. There is violence, decent spice, a plot, and the narration alone is absolutely worth a listen. These actors have fantastic pacing, the male narrator has a deep gravelly voice and the female narrators voice isn't grating at all.

I loved this series by S.J. Tilly and decided to give the audiobook for this one a try. I had such high hopes, was completely invested, and then so disappointed when we finally hear the “voice” of Dom. The male narrator sounds like somebody’s grandpa. It just really did not work for me. The female narrator was exceptional. I loved her performance. Ultimately, I just couldn’t deal with cringing at every Dom section and switched to the kindle version. Highly recommend this book and series, but I’d skip the audio.

Great story, let down by male narrator
