A Dungeon Core stuck in time, and a Fox just trying to save her family…

Throughout the Kingdom, Defenders constantly fight against incursions of dungeon monsters rampaging over the border the Kingdom shares with the Wildlands. To keep the danger to their citizens low, they periodically sweep through these untamed areas filled with natural beasts and roaming dungeon monsters, destroying as many Dungeon Cores as they can find.

Tempara was practically a newborn when Defenders from the Kingdom snatched her away, only to be forced to watch in horror as tragedy fell upon the rest of her pack. Then, against her will, the Greater Temporal Fox kit was forced to bond with a Defender and become their familiar; soon after, she and her new master were sent to destroy a Dungeon Core in the Frozen Reaches, an area of the Wildlands located far to the north of the Kingdom. Sadly for them both, an unfortunate accident gained them their untimely deaths…but the young Greater Temporal Fox gained an opportunity, as well.

With her untethered soul somehow sent back in time, Tempara now has the chance to save her pack from the horrendous tragedy that would befall them in just a few short weeks. But first, she has to figure what a Dungeon Core is and why, oh why, did she just become one?

This story contains Dungeon Core elements such as dungeon construction and defense, LitRPG/GameLit mechanics such as character progression and stats, and does not contain harems/sexual content or profanity.

While his books usually have loads of skill sheets, and some times they are skippable, this one with going back in time is just a bit more taxing. Still, it’s okay since I really enjoyed the cute little fox! If you like any of his other books you’ll probably like this one too!

Very technical but still good.

This is a good start to a new series that mixus dungeons and time together what else is there to say

Having been inundated with books where nominally intelligent protagonists who make completely unexplainable and illogical decisions when the plot demands it, this story was a breath of fresh air. The protagonist, while making many mistakes, never makes them in such a fashion as to appear "random stupid decision to advance plot", that is to say, everything done is thought out, and when mistakes occur, they are analyzed, and corrected for rationally. Likewise, the antagonists are shown as rational beings, who while making mistakes themselves, are never shown to be either chaotic evil, nor stupid.

This was a good start.

This was a very unique book compared to any other dungeon core books and I really enjoyed where he took the story

Totally Unique

I enjoyed this book and the unique characters and perspectives the story was refreshingly different, you should not do what I did this and constantly forget where you're at in the story and start chapters over and over because then the story takes about a million years since it's a time travel series book lol.

I totally unique story

While the author has some good points, I normally find his work to be quite average. however I quite enjoyed this book, and I'm looking forward to the next.

one of the best by Jonathan Brooks

Same old story new characters with a slight twist that makes it seem repetitive. I don’t know if I’ll get the next book.

Just another dungeon book

good story. reader but melancholy. author repeats themselves in preceding sentences sometimes. but otherwise it is good read.

i bought this book not expecting much since time loop books tend to be rather repetitive (go figure) but as I had run out of books on my list I decided to try it out and it was good and not overly repetitive making for an engaging story as well as an interesting twist on your classic dungeon fairy or pixy
overall it's a good dungeon book although a bit different with some odd rules and behaviors that weren't explained or are just odd

surprisingly good
