In an Angle-land riven by contesting Danes...Hrald of Four Stones has fallen in love with Dagmar, the daughter of dead King Guthrum, who once ruled all Anglia. Dagmar is beautiful and poised; very much a king's daughter. Yet, she owns nothing but the jewels about her neck - and the secrets she carries with her.

“Are you always fighting fate and the will of the Gods? Then, you will be thwarted at every turn...” Ashild has not forgotten this advice given her by her stepfather Sidroc before he sailed for Gotland. Her own desires are contrary to the goals of those who love her best - how much more difficult to make decisions for two?

Ceric of Kilton is now a proven warrior, and made second in command to Prince Eadward of Wessex. In the ceaseless attempt to bring the Danish interloper Haesten to heel, the Prince’s small troop crosses into enemy territory. There, they are pushed beyond the point of endurance. Deep into Lindisse, both Hrald and Ceric become enmeshed in a fearsome struggle between the marauding Danes and the warriors of Four Stones. The result changes both men forever.

I need more please!

While this book was full to overflowing of action and heartbreak, it wasn't my favorite. Some parts seemed over tedious while others with all the people was hard to keep track of. But nonetheless I am praying for a book nine to draws things together and give us all the questions we were left with.

Buckle Up

This series has been a personal favorite. The author has created a world where this reader/listener feels immersed in a different time and place/s. Each one has it’s ups and downs weaving a masterful tale, but this one… oh my goodness. The amount of detail is extraordinary and appreciated. I look forward to the next in this series and hoping there will certainly be one.

Great addition to the series

Loved listening to the newest in this series. Strong women characters who live in a very different earlier time.

Wonderful Writing, again!

Book 8 in the saga was a very well written book. I have enjoyed all the books but this one has me on the edge of my seat now waiting for book 9. I love the way Octavia keeps you in suspense to find out what the next thing to happen to the characters is going to be. The historical part of the books is something I've never known and happy to learn.

A worthy sage

This is a beautiful story full of tragic adventure and duty and love. It continues the lives and tales of the characters we know and love. And we start to see the budding nature of the younger generations. So happy the day I first found the Circle of Cerridwen.

Another excellent book in the Ceridwen saga

As with all the other novels in the Ceridwen series, This the Fate Wove for me is spellbinding and beautiful. While I hoped for more of Ceridwen and Sidroc, I was pulled in by the stories of their oldest children. If you know of this series then you won’t be disappointed in this new book. If you haven’t listened or read it yet, start with the first book. You will be glad you did.
