EVERYTHIING, WORLD BUILDING, BAD A WOMAN , BLACK
MAGIC! I was desperate for a new fantasy saga. So done with starting series only to find a cliff hanger and the next book not coming for a year.. I'd never heard of this author, but will read everything he? She? has written. Don't skip this one.

Surprisingly… and intriguing … gets better and better
Wasn’t sure what to expect with this 1st book of this Series. Story was very slow to develop, however saw hints of light 2/3 through and became faced paced, exciting, and satisfying but perplexed at the end. Unsure how this saga with unfold… but damn excited to start the next book! Great narrator and amazing performance!

I almost stopped listening
I almost stopped listening, because it was slow going at first, but thankfully I continued. And it was worth it. Once you get attached to these characters you can’t press pause for anything. Looking forward to book 2!

GOOD BUT FRUSTRATING
It's a good book, but I can not believe how self-loathing the pathetic Edmond is and how is it everyone just babies him while he does everything to destroy the things he supposedly cares for. How can everyone be so patient with him as they watch everything that they've been warned of happen. It's like knowing a car is coming and you'll be fun over, but the car is a mile away, yet you stand there and wait for it to hit you. I think I broke tooth from grinding them so much while listening to this stupid boy do everything in his power to help along all the foreboding news he's been terrified of happening.

Amazing fast paced intriguing adventure!
Not a dull second! Character build up is done to perfection, the story moves along at a fast pace and you just don’t want to put this book down! The narrator does and excellent job! Bravo to her! This book is a new favorite of mine! So hard to come across one like this one. So, I’ll stop here because I can’t wait to listen to the next one! I do highly recommend it.
