Publisher's summary

Was it wrong to tell Beau’s mother he’s my boyfriend? Yes. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat.

The smokin’-hot fireman isn’t exactly in the closet, but he’s been keeping things quiet for years. I don’t do quiet.

All the guys in Hell’s Ankhor know I have to be true to myself. That’s why they call me Tru.

Beau and I are nothing alike. Doesn’t matter. The attraction between me and the fire chief is hot enough to burn.

But there’s danger in town, too much for us to get hung up on each other.

Yeah, too late for that.

Do I want to kill Tru for lying to my mom? A little. But the look on her face was worth the fallout.

The easy-going biker is nothing like me. He’s impulsive. Brash. Happy.

I’ve never dated another guy before, and I should probably walk away.

Too bad I can’t.

When we get wrapped up in an arsonist’s plot, I have to wonder if Tru wants me or an open flame.

My doubts are nearly enough to smother any ember of love, but I need to be stronger than that. Can we still make things work after all the flames are doused?

Tru has bad boys, bikers, and a fire chief finally ready to step all the way out of the closet and into the arms of his not-so-fake boyfriend.

Tru and Beau's Opposites-Attract Romance

After reading 4 previous books in the 'Hell's Ankhor' series, I feel invested in the over-arcing themes, but I think someone who wants to read this book cold should be able to enjoy it as a standalone. Liberty Crew MC member Tru is balancing the merge of his old MC with the Hell's Ankhor MC, his job as a martial arts instructor at a local gym and the romantically reluctant Beau, fire chief at the station in town.

Of the books so far in this series, this one skews to the lighter side. There's no Club business to interfere with the budding relationship. Things start out in a perfect bubble, but it doesn't take long for cracks to appear. Beau lets old fears and stress over a serial arsonist cloud his perception of Tru. Will these guys work to stay together and have a happy ending?

Aiden Bates and Ali Lyda do a great job at keeping any angst low-key and short-lived. The way they weave in not only characters from Liberty Crew and Hell's Ankhor, but also from the fire station makes for a more well-rounded story. The readers are introduced to the main characters' grandmothers to nice effect too. Lyda and Bates have become one-click authors for me at this point.

David Allen Vargo's naraation is great. He adds the perfect amount of emotion into his performance.

This audiobook was given to me as a review copy after I made a request for it. I have subsequently written this voluntary opinion of 'Tru'.

Recommened.

Great story is done justice by fantastic narrator

I'll read anything this narrator performs. He took over the series at book 5, and the difference was immediately noticable.

Fake date to everything

The story dealt with far heavier issues than I expected from the blurb, but it was largely well done. I did find the identity of the arsonist as well as the big “fight” and subsequent events to be easily predicted from early on though, which was a bit of a disappointment to me. I enjoyed Tru’s character and how well he followed the flow. Beau was just too neurotic for me and too easily influenced, despite his stubbornness. The narration was excellent and the various voices added depth to the story.

Great 7th book in the MM romance series

This was a great 7th story in the MM romance series. This was a fake it until you make it type of romance where Beau and Tru portray a fake relationship until it actually becomes real. Although it started off light hearted and and little angsty, it ended up with a serious subplot and was heavier than expected, which was a happy surprise. The narration by David Allen Vargo was fantastic!

A steamy, angsty opposites attract!

This is the 7th book in a truly amazing series!
I Loved Tru and Beau's story.
This was one steamy opposites attract with medium angst and all the feels.
If you love this series be sure to pick this one up.
It's a bit angstier than what I predicted going into it but no less engaging!!

Sweet and steamy!

Oh this is definitely a sweet steamy hot audiobook! Tru and Beau are just absolutely incredible together, although I did want to smack Beau a couple times. It may have started out as a fake date to a wedding but with the delicious hot chemistry surging between them...well it wasn’t fake for long! I really enjoyed the added humor woven into the storyline! I thought narrator David Allen Vargo as always did a fantastic job with the characters voices and theatrics bringing the story to life!

Nice Addition to the Series

Slow and sweet, with some difficulties. The narrator made this much more enjoyable then reading it. It seemed like a different story from what I read.

Tru and Beau

Tru is book 7 in the Hell's Ankhor series. I love this well written book about Tru and Beau. The Liberty Crew and Hell's Ankhor motorcycle clubs have joined together to make The Hell's Ankhor Crew. Dante made treats for the firefighters who put out the fire at Stella's, the club's bakery. Tru brought them to the fire house on the off chance he'd see Beau, the fire chief. Beau's mother had shown up trying to talk Beau into meeting some woman to take to his sister's wedding. Tru heard this and told Beau's mother that he was going with Beau to the wedding and that he was Beau's boyfriend. Let the fake relationship begin. I love Tru and Beau together, they're so good for each other. Their road to a real relationship wasn't easy, but they never gave up, even when things got really bad. Definitely recommend.
Narrator David Allen Vargo does an amazing job.

Sigh...Beau, you beautiful mess!

So who wouldnt want a firefighter, right? How about one with a meddling family and some poor decision making skills? Tru wanted him and fought so hard for him. That ending, though...such an adventure! I adore this series and this narrator is to die for!!
