Publisher's summary

Tinker Air Force Base has fallen to the infected. Rachel's plane to Seattle has been shot down over a mountain wilderness in Idaho. Is she alive? It is up to John, Katie, and Dog to race against time, invading armies, blizzards, herds of infected and vicious wild predators to reach the crash site. As they fight their way across the country, they must come to grips with the new reality of the world, and devise a long term plan for their survival.

Sweeping across a wide swath of North America, Recovery continues the journey of Major John Chase and the small band of survivors he's left with after the evacuation of Tinker at the end of Indestructible. New dangers abound as the toll from the battle to survive weighs heavily on John's shoulders.

Good addition to the series

Not as strong a story as previous books, but still enjoyable. Rachel has to jump out of a plane in the wilds of Idaho. John, Katie, and dog race to get her before the wolves do.
narration was ok

So glad I spent the credit

Wow - the story gets better and better. I was skeptical at first with a new narrator - but he really comes into his own in this second story of the V-Plague Series that he narrates. I LOVE THIS SERIES - and the new Narrator has found his groove and nailed it! I really enjoyed it and it's definitely worthy of a 2nd listen.

Jeffrey Kafer was John!

I love this series and is one of my favorite up to book seven. When you replaced the perfect narrator Jeffrey Kafer, He just has a voice that is a tough guy, special op. guy, that is hard to beat. The writing is good, Jeffrey made it great. Before you changed the narrator every review you got was a 5 star. I haven’t listened to the last two books on audible and I noticed you got a new narrator. So I’m looking forward to that. I’ll listen to every book Dirk Patton writes, because I love his characters and there is never a dull moment. I have listened to so many books in the apocalyptic, zombie genre. There are some pretty bad books out there. But even the very bad books have hundreds of reviews. V Plague is so much better than most in this genre yet it’s being overlooked. It’s actually really hard to find if you don’t have the name. It doesn’t come up under zombie, or zombie apocalypse or post apocalypse. I found V Plague when the first book was on sale years ago. So glad I did. Get Jeffrey back and it will quickly be my favorite again.
