Simply exhilarating

Excellent writing style. memorable characters. Simply exhilarating.
I can't wait to get the rest of the books.

Not bad at all

So I actually listen to the author on YouTube (check him out he’s hysterical) and he’s mentioned a few times how he’s an author so I check it out and since I listen to audio books on my way to work I thought, why not?
I’m glad I did. The story is so far (I’m half way done) pretty damn good. The characters feel real and fleshed out. They have arcs that you can believe. The main character feels normal. He’s not a Superman and he’s not invulnerable. He’s realistic.
Now for the bad, the narrator is good but one character he makes him sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger and not every Austrian or German sounds like that, especially one who’s been in the states for so long.
And that’s it. That’s my only real gripe. Get the book it’s fun and enjoyable.

Well done first outing..

Great book, well done first book. A little over detailed in places but I'm sure with time this author will shine even more.

Marvelous story, no drinking required.

Came across this series by Will Jordan's YouTube channel Critical Drinker. I will know go to Critical Drinkers patreon and subscribe to support a real author and offer a prayer that this wonderful series gets the same if not better treatment than Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series.

Excellent, well-crafted Mission Impossible style

Wanted to see if The Critical Drinker can live up to his own criticism of the works of others. He can. Great novel, good performance, not cheesy. Will proceed with the series.

Solid and entertaining

Solid story that will keep you engaged. Didn’t get 5 stars because it was missing whatever that extra magic is that doesn’t let you stop listening/reading. Fun listen though.

Gripping story with some disturbing scenes

The storytelling is phenomenal. Jordan is an expert at his craft, and it shows. Action, intrigue, and pacing that keeps you listening.

My only caution is that there are some pretty graphic descriptions of sexual violence, which would be very disturbing to some listeners, the worst of which gets referenced multiple times. Worse than what you’d expect in a typical R rated action movie. Just a heads up for sensitive listeners.

Again, beyond that it’s a great book and story.

I really enjoyed this listen. Great action, very well-developed characters. Narration was excellent, performers are just getting better. I like the flawed heroes, or anti-heroes, whatever. Everyone has flaws, everyone has virtues. People should not be judged or canceled for their flaws, unless they are truly heinous.
I will continue with the series, I think I will enjoy it.

Great spy thriller!

I really enjoyed the well woven story lines that told a story of flawed humans doing what they believed to be the best choice.

Pretty damn good for a first novel

I'm a big fan of his youtube series, and figured I'd check out his books. Truly, to be a first book, it's a solid story. I'm looking forward to continuing on the Ryan Drake series and seeing Jordan get better with time.
