Publisher's summary

“Are you sure you can make it all the way through? You weren’t exactly very happy to be alive five minutes ago.”

After surviving an attempt to end his life, Spencer is determined to make it through whatever horrors await him to get what he wants. Lead by a guide he’s not sure he can completely trust, Spencer will have to put his faith in the unknown and hope that he’s strong enough to see the end of his journey. Facing off against things that the human mind can’t possibly comprehend, a man with nothing to lose will learn the true meaning of regret, remorse, and recovery.

“It’s not about trusting me; it’s about how badly you want to make amends for your actions.”

Choosing to live long enough to right his wrongs, Spencer has decided to embark on a quest through the unknown. Although his one true goal is simple, it’s ultimately the hardest thing he’s ever attempted to achieve: redemption.

Decent Story Robotically Read

I really tried to get into this story. There was almost zero emotion as it was read. There were times it almost sounded like it was read by AI. The reader, however did read the demon’s part (Irish accent?) very well. Unfortunately it was not enough for me to continue. It was just too distracting. I think I could have liked the story though. Sad for the author

Just needs a little more polish

Overall I quite liked the story, and there are interesting and fun things about it. I just wish certain aspects were a little more polished. Overall it felt like areas of the book could be expanded upon, and that they were glossed over a bit quickly to get to the next plot point. The narrator makes it campy and funny and shows the sarcastic banter between the demon and the main character well. It's a diamond in the rough for sure, but still very enjoyable and a nice listen.

Nice story

At first it was dificult to like the narrator, it felt a bit too soulless, but as the story progressed I liked it more and more. The story itself is also pretty good and quite entertaining. Totally recommended.

A life worth living

I really enjoyed this creative well written book. The only part I didn't like was the carnage portion. The narrator Wayne Keller III was absolutely phenomenal with his voices they brought the story alive. The storyline was strong and the characters were well developed. I received this audio book at my request. I am leaving my honest review here voluntarily of my own volition.

Oh, OMG!

After Spencer tries to kill his self he is Paul from the river at first he thinks from and uninbodied voice with an Irish brogue, but then he sees a little black spot wrapped around his right arm he is not on his own only to find out this little octopus looking creature is Gettia Who says he can get Spencer redemption in exchange for his soul. That’s when the long journey begins how long does it last the little creature doesn’t know cause he doesn’t tell earthly time it could be a week a month who knows he can’t tell time, but the one thing he can do is talk and he does! Constantly! Although this is aggravating to Spencer along the way who will find reason to miss trust Gettia, But what is he lying about will he get them redemption will he make it to the Masters is that even where they’re going? I love this book it is aura comedic aura and a happy ending. I thought the narrator did a good job when he first started reading I was like there’s no way I’m a be able to listen to him no offense Wayne, but after 3 to 4 sentences I was all Lynn he did such a great job I loved it! It reminded me of Victoria by Jason parent if you like quirky demons and funny dialogue read this book! Again I loved it!
