Publisher's summary

Betrayal changes everything.

The veil between realms is threatened by an unknown force, Silas vanishes without a trace, and Nivian is tasked with putting a stop to it and finding their fate keeper.

But a greater threat looms. A betrayal Nivian doesn’t see coming puts everyone’s loyalty into question and threatens to destroy not only the fragile alliance the Reapers and Hunters have formed, but everything they’ve worked so hard to protect.

Nivian’s heart threatens to get in the way of her duties as she struggles to face her feelings for Kain, the man who was once her mortal enemy but is now someone she can’t seem to resist. Her only hope of success lies with him, yet guilt causes her to hesitate when she can least afford to.

As the veil starts to crumble, Nivian must race against time and draw upon everything she has to save the balance before the world becomes a literal hell on earth. But will it cost her more than she can survive?

Enjoyed it :)

The Exodus is a good addition to this series. It picks up where The Reapers left off.
I really liked the flow and consistency of the story.
Niavian is still a bit naïve but I feel it stems from the fact that she’s so kind hearted and genuinely wants to believe in the goodness of others especially those she knows.
It causes her to overlook certain things that she probably shouldn’t.
Niavian Is tasked with a difficult job that has her seeking help from unlikely sources. Tensions rise and Kain and Niavian’s relationship is tested.
The ending shocked me a bit and I admittedly shedded a few tears.
I’m definitely curious about what’s going to happen next.

I like the narrator and feel like she did a wonderful job with the story.

The Exodus

This is an amazing story. Parts of it I feel sorry for how trusting and naive Nivi is in regards to her friends, she just wants to see the good in everyone and everything.
The story is engaging and entertaining and the narrator does a great job keeping you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait for the next one

Amazing follow up series

It took me awhile to get into this book. Like the first book I felt like the first parts of this one was kind of dull. Nivian and Kain are hanging out, developing a relationship of sorts. It’s hard for Nivian because she has no idea what each new feeling means. I love Kain. I love that he didn’t push for Nivian to be anything other than her awkward self. And because she is so awkward, I love her the most.

The last few chapters are the best of the whole book. There is a showdown with all the main characters. Yeva, Silas, Nivian, and Kain.. along with a few other MCs no spoilers but some serious stuff happens.. and the very ending is beyond sad.

Betrayals!

The second book had a slow start. It picked up halfway. It takes place after the battle that took place in book 1. I enjoyed reading how Kain and Nivian are getting close and how Kain is teaching Nivian how to drive, and other mundane things. We discover some of the Hunters world as well. The hunters and reapers have some sort of truce. It is tested by some characters that I knew was coming but it wasn’t much of a shocker to me. The ending was great and I’m happy to have book 3 ready to go.
I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator Sarah is fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fun series! Good narration!

Firstly, the narrator does a good job and I’d recommend listening. Solid performance.

I really love the whole premise for this series!! Reapers and Hunters are awesome, and I love reading about Nivi and Kain! The Exodus continues on with the story from the first book, The Reapers, so you'll definitely want to check that one out before you read this one. In Exodus, Nivi and Kain continue to build on their friendship, and begin to feel more for each other, but Nivi has been rather sheltered, so she is naïve to a lot of things, and doesn't understand her feelings towards Kain. These 2 are adorable together! So sweet and fun! Nivi has lots of little quirks, and Kain is totally wonderful with how much he understands and appreciates Nivi. Nivi still doesn't have all her memories, and she is having dizzy spells that shouldn't happen to a Reaper, and since the Reaper leader, Silas, is missing, there are some odd things happening in the Reaper world. Kain is working more with the Hunters, and with Nivi's help he is doing what he can to bring the Reapers and Hunters together, but there are those that don't want that to happen. There are some dark forces at work behind the scenes that are causing problems for both the Hunters and the Reapers. I'm looking forward to seeing with this story will go; especially since there is a bombshell ending to this book! I'm really hoping Nivi will start being a little less naïve, and start actually seeing people for who they are. I do sort of wish that there were a couple less POV's in this book because I felt some of them didn't add too much to the story, and took a little bit of the mystery away, but the story is still really interesting and enjoyable. Definitely looking forward to the next book in this series!!
