Publisher's summary

For some, the road leads to salvation. For others, it’s the last chance for freedom.

The Chambers family has come to grips with the world as they knew it being gone. They know the city is the last place they want to be. With no modern vehicles working, they need another way to get out. They just have to figure out what that is.

Major Sorley has to acquire the president-elect in New York City and get him back to Washington before President Olstein can destroy what remains of the Republic. This is not a one-man job. He’s going to need help.

A family’s plight to escape; a soldier’s mission to complete. Continue the story of the Perilous Miles series by P.A. Glaspy. Gripping, realistic, you-can’t-put-it-down fiction!

The Family is Learning

This is a great story and I'm afraid a very true representation of what will happen. Anxiously waiting for book 4.

Loved the books

The story is really well written, but The ending left you hanging. I hope there is going to be a volume 4.

Great read!

Another great book by P.A. Glaspy. I enjoyed the book and look forward to more in the series. The author gives a realistic view of how people will react if an event like this ever occurs. Lillie Ricciardi does a good job with the narration as well.

Realistic characters, interesting plot, non-stop action

I’m really enjoying this series. The characters are realistic, dialogue sounds natural, and the banter between them is light and fun. While some of the characters drive me a little crazy with their naivety, I know in a grid down scenario many people will struggle with their normalcy bias, so the reactions in the book are a good representation. The story is well written and gives us the big picture, with what’s happening at the government level, as well as the viewpoint from citizens, namely the Chambers family. The words of the author give a feeling of being in the story, and the non-stop action ensures you won’t want to put it down until the end. I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Usually I prefer male narrators, but I feel Lillie Ricciardi is the perfect narrator for this story. I enjoyed her voice, the different inflections used for various characters and her dialogue sounded natural. There were a few things missed in the editing process of the narration, but overall she did a great job.
