Publisher's summary

From the embers of a burned America rises new hope … and a new threat.

Two years after an attack brought down the electrical grid across the United States, the recovery effort is well underway. A new network of armored trains carry supplies and industrial equipment crucial to rebuilding the country.

But along the rails, one area of America is still mired in darkness, violence, and danger. Some call it the Badlands. Others the Wild West. The government simply refers to it as the New Frontier.

Retired Marine Sergeant Sam “Raven” Spears makes a living tracking down people and treasures in this lawless void. When raiders target a supply train in the New Frontier, Colorado Sheriff Lindsey Plymouth asks Raven to work with ex-Navy SEAL Calvin Jackson to secure the train’s vital cargo. All is going to plan until one fateful disaster changes everything.

As the trail heats up to find those responsible, a mysterious virus starts spreading across the New Frontier. Raven soon realizes the two events might be connected.

If he doesn’t find the insidious forces behind this conspiracy, the entire country will go up in flames.

Listener Note: New Frontier is a brand-new series set in the bestselling Trackers universe by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. For listeners of Trackers, this spin-off written with Anthony J. Melchiorri takes place two years after the end of Trackers 4. While Trackers was an EMP/war story about the destruction of the power grid in America and the chaos that followed, New Frontier is a story about the aftermath. For new listeners, you can dive into New Frontier without hearing the four Trackers books.

Wonderful performance by Bronson Pinchot

It was great to catch up with familiar characters from the Tracker series. Raven & Creek are back at it. Doing what they do best - kicking butt & taking names if anyone survives the encounter. This series starter is an excellent introduction to this cast. If you've not read the previous series, it may make you want to read them at a later time, but this book will keep you guessing and second guessing as life in a post EMP attack on America is anything but normal. The Audible book is performed by the very versatile Bronson Pinchot. You will enjoy this adventure.

Wildfire is Hot!

The tracker series was my first introduction to Nicholas Sansbury Smith. Nick has an awesome talent of hooking you and dragging you into his books and giving you characters that you love to love and love to hate. His books are always intriguing action-packed, interesting and keep you hooked.

Wildfire is no exception when it comes to Nick's books. You hit another home run with this one Nick and I am looking forward to book 2.

Bronson Pinchot is a fantastic narrator bringing each character to life with their own unique personalities. He is one of my favorite narrators.

NSS walked up to bat, swung, and hit, great book!

Not as good as the first trackers but still a good story/plot . I would recommend readding the tracker series first though. I loved to see Raven and Creek come back and kick some but along with Lindsey. As far as an appropriate age to read/listen to this book goes it has quite a bit of violence, characters are stabbed, shot, some get burned by a fire, (but it does not go into a lot of detail at that point) several decaying body's are discovered, a dog bites out a mans throat resulting in in his death, one of the main characters undergoes torture witch may be hard for some listeners. As far as language goes there are uses of the F* word the Sh* word the Cr* Son of a you know what, is used several times along with Ba**erd , there is some suggestive content. There are some good role models but not a ton. I think it depends on how mature the listener is but overall i would say 14-15+ would be a good age for this book.

The story just keeps getting better and better.

It has been some time since I listened to the original Trackers series that NSS has written, and I loved it. I wished that the story would continue, and I was very excited to learn that NSS teamed up with Anthony J. Melchiorri to write the New Frontier series. As always Audie award winning narrator Bronson Pinchot used his versatility and talent for delving into the truth of an authors vision. He simply brought the book to life.
I am really thankful that in the beginning of the story a recap was done of the original Trackers story line, you don't need to listen to the original trackers series to enjoy the New Frontier series, but I would highly recommend it just because its an amazing series as well.

Great Story!

This was interesting from the beginning. I like the characters and the pace that the story moves. I will always compare any of his books to Extinction Cycle Dark Age series because that was my first into to these authors and it was phenomenal 🥰. So far this one is pretty good. The narrator is alright he reads kind of flat so it's not as exciting as it could've been but...Not everyone is RC Bray or Jim Dale. Over all its worth the credit. I'm for book 2 🤞
