Shifters Witches an immortal and a Goddess

I loved this book. I was hooked from the very first page.I loved i Izzy’s character and I am so jealous I don’t have any magic. Her and Rye had chemistry from the beginning. Witches and shifters, a goddess and an immortal a pack of bears and wolves all combine brought a unique storyline definitely for those over 18 as the six scenes are quite steamy. Can’t wait for the next book in the series and I am definitely moving to Silver Lake. The narration was very good, he did a great job flowing in and out of characters

My Thoughts on A Magical Shift

3.5 of 5 stars

This paranormal romance by new to me author Vella Day was a good series starter.

What I liked:
- This story had a really entertaining story line that held my interest and was fast paced.
- Both main characters as well as secondary characters were likable and I feel like they were really well developed.
- I liked this version of a shifter and witch world. I like the way the author gave it diversity of creatures (different kinds of weres and witches) and not automatically having the different supernatural creatures as adversaries.

When it comes to narration of this story, the narrator did a good job with throwing in some accents so it wasn't just one and I think he did good overall with trying to give a different voice to each different character even if it didn't always hit the mark for me.

Would I read the next book in this series or others by this author? Absolutely. Would I listen to other stories by this narrator? Yes, at least one more. There were occasional moments were the tone went a little nasal sounding as the story went along but it wasn't anything that would deter me from at least giving him one more listen. This was my first narration by Michael Johnson and I would certainly be willing to try another.

When Your Wolf Shifter How Do Tell A Human You’re Mates?

Isadora is perfecting her gifts of manipulating the natural elements in Scotland..unknowingly being watched and coveted by a wolf changing when she is called back to her home in America.
Ryerson lives in Isadoras home community. He has know her for years and 4 years ago he knew his relationship with her was as mates, but he was older and not 100% sure.
She comes home and he is sure but not sure how to tell her as she isn’t a shifter...this would be a mixed type mating and she is human with magic traits.
It’s fun how the two become involved..Their friends....and their attraction to each other.
Add the element of a stalker from Scotland, what will being a mate have as impact on Isadora..the goddess...it’s a fun, fast paced story that keeps you involved and listening,
The narrator did a good job and fun Scottish accents!
This is a pure entertainment story...Enjoy!,,

Loved

I read the ebook back in 2016 so it was great to see that it was in audio. I do not think Vella could o picked out a better narrator. Michael Johnson did an amazing job. I think I could listen to his voice all day.

Every time I read a book by Vella Day I am always amazed. She does such a wonderful job. Trust me this is a book you will not be able to put down.

Ryerson McKinnon was this nice looking shifter werewolf in Silver Lake, Tennessee. He was faced with getting ready to take on a lot of responsibility. His father will soon hand down the Alpha title to him. I cannot imagine how overwhelmed he must of felt to take on that type of responsibility. Though he would have had his best friend Kalan Murdoch as second in command which is his beta, he still had no mate. He wasn’t certain if he was even ready for Alpha little long a mate.

Isadora Berta aka Izzy was what was known as a Wendayan or a witch. Her powers were great and she was in Westhaven, Scotland to master them. What she did not realize was she was in danger while she was in Scottland. I guess she was lucky that Naliana who was the moon goddess was looking out for her.

I truly hated Owen Chancellor who was a Changeling aka mutant crazy werewolf. He want Izzy and was determined he was going to have her. The question is what great lengths will he go to force her to be his wife?

Rye and Izzy have such a great love story. Rye finds himself faced with the fact that Izzy is his mate. He has to worry about not claiming her to soon. He wants her to be ready and willing when he claims her. They find the attraction they have for each other becomes very hard to control themselves. The mixing of a shifter and a Wendayan just is not done. How will their people acted when they find out?

Rye and Izzy will not have it easy in this story. There are obstacles and danger all around. Rye has this huge over need to protect Izzy. Izzy is a very independent woman. She will find there is a time she really needs him more than ever. Both Izzy and Rye will learn the lesson of needing others and both will learn the lesson of swallowing their pride.

A magical listen

This is a fantastic listen. First by the author and the narrator. The author has a great story telling PNR listen. It has a great layers story. With lots of twists and turns . The story has two different energy changing coming Hero’s and Heroines .

Hero is Ryerson. Heroine is Isadora
Both Ryerson and Isodora need saving but they don’t know it . As things stand they save each other, you ask your self how ? You need to grab it and see how . Isadora is a witch , and elements witch . Both Ryerson and Isadora knew each other yrs ago . Now that they see each other again , it’s gets hot and heavy , but in a good way . Isadora is in Europe learning. But she needs to go home to Silver lake. Silver Lake is where witches, bears and wolfs live in harmony together. But something is disturbing the peacefulness between all the shifters . That’s where Ryerson and Isadora get together to save the shifters from the evil

This was a great listen I highly recommend it

Two Shifters & A Witch

This was a steamy start to a new paranormal romance series! Isadora, a witch, has to keep who she truly is a secret, but all she wants is a normal life. Ryerson is preparing to become alpha of his pack and the last thing he dreamed of was meeting his mate this soon. Will he do whatever it takes to protect her and is she willing to lose part of herself to mate with him? I really liked the world building and felt that each character was well described and developed. I always love the idea of fated mates, especially when they end in HEA’s. Izzy and Rye’s relationship wasn’t instant and she did have her doubts about mating him, but it was romantic and they definitely had chemistry with one another. This story was filled with angst, romance, and a stalker that kept me hooked until the very end!
Michael did a great job with this narration! He used different voices for each character, his voice flowed well between each one, and his female voices were very easy to listen to.

Witches and wolves, a fantastic combination

I throughly enjoyed the storyline of this book. Though I did find the writing a bit amateurish at times. Once I got used to the style of writing I was able to loose myself in the story.

Michael did a brilliant job narrating this book. His different voices and accents were great. I hope he narrates the next book in the series too!

A great start to a potentially interesting series

I liked listening to this audiobook. I particularly like the paranormal romance genre, especially if the author steps away from the usual storyline with the expected characteristics.

This book has a little of everything. Wolf shifters... yes. Bear shifters... yes. Humans.... yes. Witches... yes. A goddess.... yes. Said goddess' consort... yes. Magic... yes. Danger... yes. And plenty of chemistry and romance.

I liked Isadora and Ryerson. They are both strong characters with a healthy dose of vulnerabilities to make them likeable and believable as the protagonists. As the alpha pair they set the pace for the books to come in the series and it promises to be interesting. In fact, as soon as I finished this audio book, I promptly bought and read the next book in the series!

interesting book

This book was interesting. It kept me "turning the pages" I mean listening. There was a lot that I liked about it and some things I didn't like so much. Beyond that I thought it was a pretty good story. I am sure others would like it.
