A great beginning

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The authors and the narrator are new to me and I'm glad that I now know their work.

The story is pretty fast paced and that was good. It is well told and the characters are well developed. The narrator did a great job with the story, his pitch was perfect, the pace was great, the voices were clear and fit each character.

The story has wolves, mages, love and pain, and good and evil. So most bases are covered. The angst level is low to medium but I suspect as the series gets further along the angst level will increase.

I look forward to reading/listening to futures books from this pair and to future works from the narrator.

Would relisten to again

Overall I loved this series. The book is well written, and legit questions that popped in my head (thinking about the characters situations) as the book went on were answered~ I love the concept that Mage's live longer than wolves, and that it the characters face their problems instead of letting them linger. My only problems are that book 3 is not on audible yet (or even out as of this review), and that I wanted the book to last longer. Honestly, this series was a fun read and it the book moved at a great speed.

The narration was great loved that I felt the emotions and thoughts of each character. Really pulled me in, like I was there in the book as the events were going on.

Not a bad series

I enjoyed the book and it had some good moments, it is typical Liam style. But like usual I am interested in the overall plot line and how it will go. The narrator kept my attention and definitely did a good job of bringing a picture for me.

It's a first in the series, so a good but of setting up with a decent storyline. The narration is alright, not going on the best or worst list. I'm on the dense about continuing or not.

If you're a Kingsley fan or of similar authors, you'll definitely enjoy.

The flow of the narrative was good with the story... I enjoyed the angst and drama with characters growth and development

Forbidden Magic

This was a really great start to a series! There was so much angst and passion I didn’t want to stop listening to this once I started. This author and narrator combo did an amazing job with this world and bringing these characters to life! I enjoyed this so much and I can’t wait to listen to other books by this author. I really enjoyed these characters and their journey. Though there were a few times I wanted to scream because of the angst.

A Magical Gay Fantasy

This was a pretty simple fantasy story. Kinda like Harry Potter meets Twilight meets 50 Shades of Grey. Being a big Star Wars / Marvel nerd myself, I totally dug the magic story. I guess my only complaint with this book was I really wanted to know more how the magic worked. In the Harry Potter universe, there seemed to be rules or technical details regarding magic. But all that's sorta glossed over in this story because the focus is solely on Leo and Zach's relationship. And that story doesn't disappoint.

When I was a kid, my mom used to read all these Harlequin Romance novels. I used to make fun of her for doing that. But until I listened to this book, I guess I never knew what kind of erotic scenarios could come out of these books. Added to the fact that the narrator, BJ Whimpey, expertly draws the listener into each scene. Whether it's sexual or fantasical, the reader should have a great time listening to either.

Zac is a mage and Leo is a wolf. Wolves and Mage's don't mix, but Leo is Zac's tether. Bad things are coming and they will have to work together to survive. This was a really good story, great narration done by BJ Whimpey!

Great Story

This is not one one of the narrators I’m as familiar with but overall I enjoyed it. The story is great and hearing it brings it to a new level.
