Two beautiful female mages down...an academy of thousands to go.
If you haven’t listened to the first book, then I don’t want to spoil the surprise. Grab that now and listen to how exactly a Creation Mage learns his spells. When you’re done, come back here, and you can hear all about my new classes, my new spells, and my venture into the Mage Games....

My only issue and it's a small one is with the narration. Alex Perone is a great narrator but I'm not sure if he's the right choice for the main character. He doesn't pull off the Han Solo hero type as good as he does the Luke Skywalker hero type and the main character is way more Han than Luke. Plus the way he reads/performs the romantic dialogue and scenes is...sometimes super cheesy and cringey. Sometimes it's the writing but sometimes it's his performance. Marissa Parness is all around great...though some of the voice choices she makes kinda sorta don't fit with the way a character is written. Example: there's a succubus character in the story who's supposed to be super seductive and sexy but she's voiced with a very posh and a bit ridiculous Mary Poppins type voice. I get that these kind of books are not supposed to be taken very seriously and I don't...but when great narrators perform a character kinda weird or just don't seem to be the right fit for the main character it's kinda hard to ignore. None of this should keep you from buying and enjoying the books cause they're really fun and the narrators overall do a great job.
Looking forward to the next book.
