Publisher's Summary

"Dude! It finally came!" My roommate barely withheld his excitement as he barreled into the living room of our apartment with a package in his hand. "Check it out, Jacob." He smiled as he tore at the brown paper surrounding his purchase.

As he ripped the covering off the package, bits and pieces scattered all across the floor of the living room like confetti. For a second, I thought about lecturing Todd about not making a mess of our apartment, but who was I kidding? This place was already a shithole. At least some half-assed confetti would make it feel a little livelier.

My roommate was your stereotypical stoner archetype. Seriously, he looked like he belonged in a hippie van solving mysteries with a Great Dane. Todd's long, blond hair was always greasy and unkempt, and the smell of the sweet leaf reeked off him so frequently that most people just assumed he was using a hemp-laced cologne.

To top off his look, Todd wore a bit of scruff on his chin in the shape of a rough soul patch, as well as a t-shirt with the logo of whatever old-school rock band or metal band that he was currently listening to.

Fun first book

Jacob is taken for a wild ride when his friend buys a book that has a spell to summon succubi. We get into the story and set pieces fairly quickly and the characters are thrust from conflict to conflict. The book actually went further than I thought it would, but it does come at a cost to push through some story beats faster. There isn't a ton of establishing time for Jacob and the succubi to garner the love and complete trust that they have very quickly, but this is something common enough in the genre. That being said this change allows more conflicts to be encountered and conquered by the ragtag band of misfits.

There are a ton of fun set pieces from a battle in a hotel, a Mad Max-esque car battle and a horde of demons charging the heroes. The narration was great throughout, and the great time they seemingly had comes through (especially with a cut that was left in and you hear them crack up at the insane conversation the main character and his friend has). All of the main characters have enjoyable and distinct personalities and mesh together very well.

Overall if you like the genre this was a fun little listen that sets up what can be an entertaining series.

disappointed

narrator was fine. story is terrible. couldn't get more than a few chapters in. reads like a romance novel for 12 yo boys

Just bad

This is a novel of low class and poor story. It had the potential to be good but the author threw away the opportunity. The writing itself and the performance isn't bad, it a shame that they had nothing interesting to say.

A great start to a series

enjoyed this title. definitely will continue to listen to lore in the series.
the editing had a flaw where the actors began laughing and commenting on a scene in the book.

overall I would recommend

Succubus Lord Fun!

Succubus lord is a fun read. A near twist on the harem styled books. Room for the plot, characters and fun to grow and develop.

Better Than Expected

I'll be honest. I was bored when I bought this. Given the name of the book I expected it to have a lot more explicit scenes, and a slapped together story. However I was pleasantly surprised to find some good story. I'm looking forward to book two.

Spoiler alert (sort of)

The book mentions the alternator a few times turning over in a vehicle before it starts. I think the author was meaning the starter.
