I'm trying to say that the performance from the narrator was fantastic. that said the tldr for this review is that this is the first story from this author that I've ever consumed for lack of a better descriptor. I blew through the first three books which were phenomenal and I recommended the series as a result. the first say 3/4 of the fourth book was Top Notch. the ending however I did not like in any way shape or form. y'all can argue whether or not it was poor writing or simply my personal taste. my MO is that I go through a story using Kindle unlimited. if I like the story well enough then I double back and pick up the audiobook if that's an option. I had books one through three in audio. after book 4 I did not and I was pretty gunshot when it came to book five as well. it wasn't until I had read book 6 that I felt that the series had redeemed itself in my own eyes. at that point it was a little weird to have one through three and then six in audio. so I went ahead and picked up four and five. at this point it's been a bit and this is only the second time going through this section of the story. I will reaffirm that I still don't like the ending of book for, but part of that is due to a mini cliffhanger. I hate them in a major way, but to be honest they're really only an issue the first time through. with that no longer a problem, the ending of book for becomes a little bit more tolerable for me. my issue with book five was that I found it boring at times. I want to make special note that I'm not saying that the book is boring, only that I found it boring at times. in my opinion things pick back up in book 6 and thus I'm returning to recommending the story to anybody reading this review.

Just an excellent series

I really enjoy this series. Since the first book, I've been looking forward to each new installment and I've never been disappointed in them.
The premise is interesting and the development of the story is quite engaging.

Really good cultivation story

I love the introspection of the main character. Unlike other stories that portray everything in simple terms of good and evil, this one is very comfortable with the murky grey reality of a culitivation world, and delves deep into the consequences of that. A true gem.

All books are well written

Great story! Great choice on reader! Can’t wait till the next book! The M/C is developing steady without getting boring

pretty good

it's a little slow pased but not bad it had it's fare share of funny moments but I would have appreciated some more humor but the story being in a more somber point does make it more difficult with him being in a better position towards the end of the book I hope the next book will return to the lighter more humorous writing of the earlier books depressed sen isn't as nice to listen to as happy sen

I like the series so much I am considering listening to book 6 on Kindle. Kindle ai narration is not great but these books are. audible will not have it out till July

Starting to lose me

The book is too short to have this much angst and depression. One major event and we all knew what it would be. Feels like the author got depressed and it’s all over the pages. This is the winter of thy discontent? Meh. Get back to the strong characters and great story or move on.

a good journey

I enjoyed this book series so far. there's a a little bit of filler but mostly good character development and some plot here and there. good

The story was mostly good, but it had quite a bit of depressing scenes. Plus a lot of over the top drama to enhance the depression feeling.

getting bored

I need more action and meaningful content. I am going to finish the series but only because I am this far in.
