The MC is a Simp

The MC is weak, incompetent and worst of all a simp who let's his wife abuse him.

Transactional Cultivation

It kind of felt like to me that the MC’s perspective on cultivation is essentially “it’s pretty cool”.

Most of the story was about the MC helping out his “wife’s” revenge plot. Not much of the book was actually about his cultivation journey. With his ability feeling underutilized; especially because of it being overly limited to prevent an OP character from the get go; and the MC not having any real goals other than helping his wife (in name only), the overall story was rather dull.

The ability given to MC was interesting but, I felt like it could have been better. The basic concept is that anytime he gives something, he gets something in return 100 fold. However, this is limited by him only being able to give something to those he has a connection with. My problem with this system is that it doesn’t promote any real concept of generosity (like the name in the book). Instead of promoting generosity to those in need or giving to produce a positive benefit holistically, it feels way too transactional. I would have liked something along the lines of anytime he gave something, he was given something in return based on how big of an impact it had on the individual. That way he could freely give to anybody, but would allow for the MC to try and give the most meaningful gifts he could and get more in return.

I also just didn’t like Lan Feng (not sure I spelled the name right). She was quite cold hearted throughout the book, and it just felt like she was using the MC the entire time. Even if there might be an actual romantic interest between the two, I couldn’t find myself sharing the same sentiment.

With all that being said, this book is a no go for me.

it's pretty good

the limitations/restrictions on his ability kinda makes it difficult to advance storyline reasonably. the wife situation probably ran for too long and I think there was lost potential in the pools arc. (trying not to give anything away). I'll start book 2 but if the struggles are the same just different environment I'll probably stop.

Fun!

I love cultivation fantasy and this book didn’t disappoint. It was entertaining and I enjoyed it. There are some things that I believe was missing and would have made the story more compelling but still it was interesting enough to hold my attention for almost 15 hours and that is rare.

it was nice to have a system that rewards good behavior and character

I have watched several original cultivation World stories and read some more with odd in search from Earth type characters as well and this one at least stands a genuine generosity and that the system made the character is given cuz sometimes they get systems sometimes they just have natural talents and this one he's given a system that rewards generous Behavior but he's got odd rules to make it apply you can't just give it stuff to anyone and get a reward the first book is kind of the build-up but you can listen to the book enjoy the laughs and trying to figure out who this guy is she never mentions his name and he doesn't mention much of his history but you can tell he's a fan of Pop Culture by some of the references he makes as he tries to figure out this cultivation world

It had potential but reveals happened in the wrong sequence

This was a good story potential the problem was reveals and potential reveals were made in a way that just did not satisfy you and it left you more frustrated with the author then you would have thought and Maybe you feel this was more a second book than a first book It is a good read it's just they need to do something before this

Not bad, but not good either

This story started off interesting, but it turned into too much of a series of gimmicky transactions. The whole story pivots about a gimmick that the main character has to struggle with and try to figure out how to use this gimmick to give himself an advantage. Other than the gimmick, this is pretty much a standard cultivation story if not that good of one. Still haven’t decided whether it’s worth reading in the next book in this series.

Good one

Okay so kinda enjoyed the story but im doubtful that im getting the second book. The MC has the ability that every gift he gives its returned 100 times over but he doesn't really takes advantage of that only when he is bending over backwards to help Lan Fen get her revenge and only for her to toss him aside when he is no longer useful to her and honestly i was happy when they separated but nope it goes back to her towards the end to finish her revenge and honestly even though he finally leaves, i just don't care and lost interest, so yeah most likely im not getting the next one
