A doomed love, a dangerous mission, and a kingdom on the brink of war...

A cast-off princess…

Born into a life of duty and sacrifice, Morgan Pendragon's destiny has never been her own. Rumored to carry the tainted blood of the fae in her veins, her birthright was stolen from her when she was a mere child. Growing up in the shadow of her brother, the king, she has been promised to the goddesses when she comes of age. So, when her brother commands that she seek out a fae weapon of legendary power, Morgan seizes the chance to break free from the chains of her fate.

A dangerous temptation…

As she travels, Morgan finds herself drawn into a strange group of outcasts led by a dark and enigmatic warrior whose sharp wit and fierce beauty set her heart ablaze. While Morgan struggles to reconcile her desires with her duty, she and her new comrades discover dangers that await them beyond anything in their wildest nightmares.

A slumbering kingdom awoken by blood…

Believed to have vanished generations ago, a fae kingdom dreaded by mortals is ascending once more, bound to reclaim what was lost by violence and bloodshed. As the fae world, with its intricate web of lies and mysteries, is slowly revealed to Morgan, she is led to the terrible realization that the secrets she carries in her blood make her a greater threat than she could ever have imagined.

The first in an action-packed new series brimming with magic, danger, morally gray characters, and spellbinding slow-burn romance, Queen of Roses is perfect for fans of Jennifer L. Armentrout, Raven Kennedy, Rebecca Yarros, Carissa Broadbent, and Sarah J. Maas. Intended for mature listeners.

Liked the plot and character development and the storyline slowly unfolding. Some of protagonist helplessness against tormentors in home didn’t resonate much though. Too much naivety in the character

Good plot and character development.

Loved the story but the narrator almost made me not finish the book. Narrator has almost a whiny quality to her voice and puts extra emphasis on basically every other word.

Great story, didn’t enjoy narrator

The story is great, the performance is wonderful, I love her voice. My issue is with the LFM. She is so so naive about what’s going on around her. For someone that’s supposed to be an amazing fighter she just crumples to the will of her brother. The fact that she took the “medicine” for as long as she did because her brother (who is horrible) told her do just drove me crazy. Hope she gets better in book 2.

The LFM took away from the story

The FMC is weak. Grow a backbone for goodness sake. The fact that she doesn’t drove me insane. The plot for this story is really good, but it drags way too much at times. And again, the MFC is a disappointment. I won’t be continuing the series.

It could have been really good

The best female protagonist I’ve ever read in a fantasy. Actually likable, and makes more mature decisions that seem realistic. So many female fantasy characters are so immature and annoying, this was incredibly refreshing!. And amazing, creative story that really builds over the whole series. Has it all.

Amazing -one of my absolute fave fantasy

Found this book on TikTok and absolutely LOVED IT! Even upgraded my subscription so I could get the other books. It may start out a bit slow but I swear it’s worth it.

First and foremost, I’m growing increasingly frustrated with these incredibly naïve and gullible protagonists who possess extraordinary magical abilities yet consistently fall victim to deception and end up falling victims over and over. Secondly, why does every story begin with the woman harboring animosity towards the man and then, inexplicably, falling in love with him? Such a plot device is ridiculous and old. As for the narrator, she would be better off reading children’s stories. The accent was particularly grating; reading spicy scenes sounded utterly inappropriate and cringe-worthy when delivered with that accent.

Story is dragging

I felt the way the narrator was reading it like a story to little children and I couldn’t stand it. I got maybe 4 chapters in and then had to stop. I switched to reading the book and loved it. The story is great. But this audio book was awful.

The narrator is why I DNF
