Heart-wrenching and fantastic

This second installment of Torj & Wren’s story has brought me immense joy and heartache in the past 24 hours — I couldn’t put the book down! The twist at the end crushed me, might have shed a few tears. Outstanding story with all of our favorite Thezmarr characters. Author Helen Scheuerer delivers another winner. 7 out of 5 stars.

I was do excited for this one. The story is ok, the one thing I really don’t enjoy is Torj’s voice that sounds like Snape from Harry Potter at times.

Love this story!

The characters stole my heart from the get go. I’ve been a fan since Blood & Steel and have enjoyed Wren and Torj’s journey just as much as Thea and Wilder’s. I devoured the book in two days and I’m already missing them. I will definitely be revisiting both series again. Definitely worth the wait!

Finally the Slow Burn Ignites

I wandered into Thezmarr about a year ago and I never left. The Ashes of Thezmarr series has felt like coming home to this magical world of magic, Fates, Warswords, dark magic, politics, secrets, found family, and love. Wren and Torj's love started in the first series but they denied it until Thorns and Fire. Finally, the slow burn ends and they finally admit their love for each other while they are trying to save the midrealms...again. The story is pure magic and the voice actors really brought the world to life. I cannot wait for Book 3!

Phenomenal

This is one of my highly anticipated reads this year, and it certainly did not disappoint. It was incredibly good. The slow burn, the angst, and the yearning—I couldn’t get enough of it. It kept me on the edge of my seat, making it a page-turner. That cliffhanger has me eagerly anticipating more. Bravo to another five-star read! I’m an immersive reader, and the narration was superb.

The story of the bond

I really enjoyed the development of the characters, the stories within the bond. Helen writing, makes you feel the pain, hope and love of Wren and Torj’s journey. Wish I didn’t have to wait for the final book!

Her writing is fantastic!

If I’m being honest, I’m not usually a fan of the miscommunication trope — I found myself wanting to yell, “Just talk to each other!” That said, it was handled tactfully here and added more depth to the story than I expected. Watching how Wren’s mind works is both fascinating and exciting. The world-building is incredibly unique, and I absolutely love seeing an intelligent, capable female main character take the lead. Getting a glimpse into Torj’s insecurities added an emotional layer that made me root for him even more. I’m so excited for the final book!

The book was amazing, I don’t like the plot and underlying conflict but I know it’s necessary and the book wouldn’t be a series if they all just lived happily ever after. Huge cliffhanger.
