Absolutely AMAZING!!

This story was so good! I will definitely be getting a physical copy soon and can not wait for book 2!! These characters pulled at my heart, and I was sucked in! I can't say enough good things about the narrator, she did such an amazing job with this story and it had me in a choke hold. I HIGHLY recommend listening or reading this book!!

I loved the story line dearly

This was captivating and beautifully written. I cannot wait for more! The author did a lovely job.

Her monster

Interesting story. I love the bad boy but sweet to her trope.
I got the audiobook because I follow the narrator on tiktok. It was a solid story interest plot. I like our MCs abilities and her relationships with (i listened to the book I dont know how to spell anyones name).
One thing I didnt like was the female. The male. It was how other people but not ‘muggles’ for a better word. The female did this. The males stared back at her.
I dont really ever read mate stories so I dont know if thats normal. But the female the male throughout was strange.
But over all I enjoyed it and will probably continue the series.

quick and enjoyable

I liked the story and the narrarator. The plot was interesting, kept me listening, the slow burn was good overall and I liked all the characters. looking forward to the next one!

The chemistry and Action 5 out of 5

Loved it from beginning to end. The backstory of each character is wonderful. The depth of the leading male character was amazing.

PLOT/ CHARACTERS/ WORLD BUILDING

This was honestly so cool. I loved how the ML was able to be a strong male figure whilst also having a tender side where he shares his vulnerabilities with the FL. The FL is so refreshing. She’s not a whimpering/ cowering/ simpering or annoying woman. She’s also not annoyingly headstrong. Her character is believable and I love how straightforward the romance was. I also like the concept of their magic, and the settings. Def give this book a try!

Quick moving plot

This is a good story but that doesn't make it a great one. I felt like the chemistry between the two main characters didn't make sense with how fast-paced it was. Definitely potential here with the main plot but I don't think the overall character development where the relationship is involved was given enough depth. it could be that the female main character is just frustratingly a perpetual optimistic child-like persona but realistically I feel she was way out of touch with some of her situations. same with male main character. he went from overkill badass to whipped in love way too easily and I just felt there needed to be a lot more going on between them before getting into I can't live without you stage.

Entertaining

I liked the story, I definitely will be looking into the second book to see how it ends.

I almost never write reviews. I have a ton of books in my library & I read only romance. I return many books & I am very picky. I research books on Amazon & good reads etc. before buying.
The narrator is great. Smooth voice that’s distinctive for each of the many characters.
This book has gotten 1,427 reviews on kindle with a rating of 4.4.
So I took a chance. Wonderful world building. It’s not “insta love.” There’s a good & gradual buildup from enemies to lovers theme that lasts until the end of book 1. I can’t wait for book 2. Definitely worth one of my precious credits.

Awesome fantasy romance book!

This is my first book by JE Reed and I first came across it on my TikTok feed a few months ago. I was extremely excited to hear that one of my favorite narrators Laura Horowitz was bringing this book to life in an audiobook! Laura did an AMAZING job with this story and I’m so excited for the next book in the series. I loved the characters and the magic system was easy to understand, as well as the story flowing along at a good pace. I believe this book is considered Young Adult, so just a heads up for anyone, there is no spice in this book (everything is closed door/fade to black) in any intimate romance scenes between the characters. That being said, if you’re looking for an easy-to-digest YA fantasy romance, this is the book for you to check out as soon as possible!
