Max hasn't forgotten the dungeon, located where the research labs that started all this once were. It's been a tempting prospect to Max for a while.

Prometheus's efforts to hasten the spread of mana are bearing fruit. His recovery of radioactive material allows him to keep pushing the wormhole open farther and farther, while stabilizing it to the point that physical objects can pass freely back and forth.

As the mana fields cover the entire Earth, contact is made with the intelligence on the other side of the wormhole. Max discovers that while some of the people on the other side are peaceful, others are highly aggressive.

Your books are amazing

I must say the story telling top notch my only dislike is it ended Tom larcombe your my favorite author I’ve listened to all of your series you Nail the world building with character development perfectly

Solid Entry, But Growth Feels Stalled

This installment had moments I genuinely enjoyed, particularly the combat and how the story wrapped up. The fights were engaging, and the ending felt satisfying enough that it reminded me why I liked the series in the first place.

That said, getting back into the story was harder than it needed to be. A brief recap at the beginning would have gone a long way toward re-orienting me, especially after time away from the previous book. I found myself spending too much mental energy trying to remember where everyone stood instead of settling back into the narrative.

The pacing was also an issue for me. Much of the book felt slow, and that sluggishness came through in the audio performance as well — at times the narration sounded almost disengaged, which made it harder to stay immersed. Combined with the very gradual character growth, it left me feeling like the story was moving forward, but only inch by inch.

I did enjoy this book overall, especially the action and the conclusion, but the slow progression makes it harder for me to feel excited about continuing the series right now. I’m not opposed to long arcs, but I want each book to feel like meaningful ground was gained — and here, that sense of growth felt muted.

Author at his best, backed by great audible!

While I have enjoyed this series very much, the audio brings to life and adds depth to already deep characters, even the AI is growing and changing. Adds a few twists and turns and now a new [spoiler] and this just keeps better and better!

love the story progression

this book was enjoyable to read. interesting seeing how the president is taking a role in the story. Max has taken an interesting role now that he is the strongest. hoping the next book will bring new weapon ideas either crafting them or as a reward.

I really enjoy the character interactions. feels like real. people and not forces test to progress the story
