A beefier caverns and creatures

As always Jonathan Sleep does an amazing job. This book seems beefier than the previous books in terms of character development.

We’re on to a new stage, and that’s a good thing

The series isn’t what it used to be. The plot moves slower than the first four books, there’s a lot more character and feelings than action, and (for better or worse) there appears to be more flanderization going on. It’s just how this series is evolving; and I’m cool with that.

It’s still funny, witty, thoughtful and the same series at the core, but I’m totally okay with this book having a slightly different personality than the early books.

Still not sure I’m sold on the blatant retcon, Chaz getting dumber by the second, or Cooper being so sad all the time. I miss when he was kind of mean but funny and now he’s a total wet blanket.

On the whole, it’s still my favorite series of all time, and even though Sleep’s voice is changing as he grows older, it’s like fine wine. Thanks for the book Robert.

Fantastic series

I really enjoy this series. There's multiple times where I actually will laugh out loud while listening. The only bad thing I would say is that these books have ruined bards for me in all others books because I expect them to be this good!!!

Great Storytelling once again!

I’ve been a huge fan and have listened to all the Caverns and Creatures books multiple times. I can’t get enough. Thank you for another great story Mr Bevan! Can’t wait to see where the story goes next. Cheers

Character evolution!

Bevan is back, baby! He’s finally diving deeper, and I love the character surprises. His best writing yet… and still funny as hell.

Another great addition to the series.

I don't even have to finish the audiobook all the way to know that it's well worth the read. The characters are brought to life once again by the talented Mr. Sleep and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

That said, I wish the the author and whomever else would market the books better. Get out there. Put funny moments out on social media platforms, drive engagement. I hate to see such a great series struggling to get more and more readers/listeners.

Critical Failures X is a wildly entertaining continuation of Robert Bevan’s hilarious and irreverent fantasy series, and one of the most satisfying entries yet. Longtime fans will appreciate how the characters continue to grow in depth without losing their trademark absurdity, while shifting alliances and unexpected twists keep the plot fresh and engaging. The story balances laugh-out-loud moments with real stakes, and leaves just enough unresolved—particularly around Randy, Katherine, and the rest of the gang—to build real excitement for what’s coming next. Bevan’s world is still ridiculous, but it’s never felt more alive.

This is the funniest series I've ever read. it's like my high school D&D group transported to the campaign world 🤣

Seriously check out this series

Bevan is truly a master of his craft. If you can deal with a little raunchy humor this is a master class in fantasy comedy.

Honestly this book is a little bit of filler but I loved every chapter. The characters are so well developed and unique that every thing they do is entertaining.
With how this book ends I can not wait for the next book.
