On January 21, 2020, Dorothy Yates-McCathran disappeared from her home in Vivian, Louisiana. According to Dorothy’s husband, Kevan, he saw her that day at their home, and then he left to look at a job. When he returned a couple of hours later, he couldn’t find Dorothy. However, he found a strange scene inside the house, a television remote control partially melted on the woodstove. Upon further inspection, he noticed plastic and other material burning inside the stove. There were clothes scattered around, and it looked as though perhaps someone had left in a hurry.

On September 14, 1990, 10-year-old Kacey Perry disappeared while visiting with her father at his home in Portland, Oregon, after the two had a disagreement. In Part 1, we learned that it’s believed Kacey made it to a store blocks away from her father’s home, possibly to make a phone call to ask someone to pick her up. Witnesses spotted her at this location, and her belongings were later found at the store. It remains unclear if Kacey was picked up by someone she knew or possibly went with a stranger. In the early days of the investigation, one person close to her mom stood out.

On May 24, 2017, 27-year-old Zacharey Wilks left his home in Lompoc, California, to make the familiar drive to his uncle's residence in Las Vegas, Nevada. He planned to help his uncle prepare the family's vacation home for summer guests and spend time with relatives. However, Zacharey never made it, and he disappeared along with his car. We first brought you Zacharey's story in July of 2019. Since that time, there have been significant developments in the case after Zacharey's car was recovered in October of 2019.

21-year-old Megan Foglesong disappeared from Alden, Kansas, around the end of November 2015. When we first covered Megan’s story in 2016, nearly everyone pointed to Megan’s on-again, off-again boyfriend, David Madden. Megan attempted to leave him in the past and told others around Thanksgiving of 2015 that she was leaving him again. Several days later, Megan sent a message to a friend indicating that she was back at David’s, then she went silent. Around this time, David texted the local undersheriff to inform him that Megan had stolen from him and ran off.

On November 25, 2019, 29-year-old Daniel Reoch was in the custody of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Squamish, British Columbia. They picked Daniel up while walking along a rural road in temperatures just barely above freezing, and he was not dressed for the weather. Daniel called his uncle, but something didn’t seem right- his demeanor was off, he was in the midst of a crisis- and the police and Daniel’s family were concerned. But they couldn’t hold him, and he was released from custody that evening.

Michael Wallace was a 29-year-old Massachusetts native living in Menlo Park, California, with a bright future and full life ahead of him. He had graduated from one of the most elite universities in the world and didn’t have to worry about finding a job. So when he disappeared without a trace, his family had to wonder- did he choose to vanish? Was his fascination with The Bourne Identity and Catch Me If You Can more than just a dream? Did he seek answers in a monastery after studying Buddhism for several years?

Last week, we brought you the first installment in Jarrod Green's story. 20-year-old Jarrod Green disappeared from Searcy, Arkansas, in September of 1994. Jarrod seemed to be in a panic and concerned about his safety. He was emotional on a call with his girlfriend but wouldn't go into details. Jarrod also retrieved a gun from a friend. His family knew he had plans to meet someone, and then he vanished. Jarrod's car turned up in Searcy at a store several days later.

On December 25, 2017, 28-year-old Ever Orozco left his sister's home in Weld County, Colorado, headed for New Mexico with his girlfriend. They had planned to pack up their belongings and move back to Colorado to start a new life away from the shady characters that had surrounded Ever's life for the past few years. But Ever never made it back to start that new life and wouldn't be seen or heard from again. In fact, leads dried up quickly after he vanished.

Terri Ackerman spent much of her time babysitting her two grandchildren. On Thursday, August 23rd, 2018, Terri was at her daughter’s home watching the kids. She left that evening, hugging everyone goodbye, stating she would see them again in the morning. What no one knew at the time was that this was the last time they would see Terri. When she got home, Terri called her daughter, Ambyr, to let her know that she made it to her Lochbuie, Colorado, home safely. Everything seemed fine. Later that night, she called Ambyr back again and seemed upset but didn’t go into detail.

We first brought you Zachary Kennedy's story in January of 2018. Zachary disappeared from Long Beach, California, on October 22, 2017. He was at the home of an acquaintance, Scott Leo, when his phone activity suddenly stopped, and the phone powered down. Scott Leo later stated that Zachary left on foot that night, but he was never seen or heard from again. Six months after he had vanished, police made a gruesome discovery. We all thought that justice would be swift, but we were wrong. It would be two more years before charges were filed against Leo.

On December 3, 1996, a letter was written that said the following: “in the event of my death or disability, I grant custody to, and ask the court to give legal custody of my daughter, Bethany Maria Tiner, to my parents, Lee Aaron Kennedy and Catherine Aline Kennedy.” The letter, penned by Teresa Kennedy, indicated that Bethany was in danger. Just one month later, in January 1997, 28-year-old Teresa and 3-year-old Bethany would vanish from Chickasha, Oklahoma forever.

In May of 2020, Marina Bischoff had been working as a social worker at a children’s hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, and was known to be a reliable worker who never missed a shift. When Marina didn’t show up for work one day, her coworkers and family began looking for her. What they uncovered was a bizarre series of events that ended with Kansas City Police officers being the last people to see Marina Bischoff alive.

Last week, we brought you two new episodes on the incredible developments in the case of Angela Mack and Thomas “Mikey” Rettew. If you haven’t listened to the original episode or the first two updates, listen to those first, they will bring you up to speed. Today, we’re taking a look at another aspect of the developments in this case, the furnace that law enforcement alleges Clarence Krusen used to dispose of Angie and Mikey. Is this theory even possible?

On January 4, 2019, Steve Millis spent some time at his nephew's home before making a quick trip to a dollar store in Hesperia, Michigan. Steve was seen on video surveillance entering the store at 6:40 PM. At 6:47, Steve walked up to the counter and purchased a few cans of cat food. He smiled at the clerk, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. A minute later, Steve exited the store and disappeared into the night. The Newaygo County Sheriff's Office began investigating Steve's disappearance. What they uncovered was a tangled web of stories about what happened to Steve and why.

On June 3, 2001, 15-year-old Erin Pospisil wanted to visit a friend, but she couldn’t find a ride to her friend’s home not far from the Pospisil home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her dad was asleep after his shift at work, and her mom was still working. Erin continued to ask around for rides. Eventually, a family friend at the Pospisil home offered to take her to her friend’s house. What happened from there is a mystery, but one thing we do know? Erin has never been seen or heard from again.

Six months ago, we brought you the story of 70-year-old Sandra Eckert, who had been missing for 15 months from Franklin, Wisconsin. The story was eerie, with so many haunting hallmarks we’ve heard in many stories with the same patterns of behavior. When we first shared Sandra’s story with you, we held a significant amount of information in confidence at the request of Sandra’s family and law enforcement. At that time, we knew that there were sealed court documents that could lead to some significant developments in the case and possibly an arrest and indictment.

On the evening of February 28, 2019, 20-year-old Matthew Anfeldt disappeared after leaving his mom’s house in Tenino, Washington. He had spent the day with his sister and her boyfriend. The three went out bowling together earlier in the day before returning home. Videos that his sister took that day show Matthew smiling and laughing. They returned to his mom’s home, and Matthew spent more time chatting with his sister. To those who saw Matthew that day, everything seemed normal. Matthew got up to get his cell phone and never came back to his sister’s room.

On February 9, 2020, 31-year-old Zach Fortenberry left his home in Bonney Lake, Washington. Several days later, his car was located in nearby Carbonado with the keys inside and a half a tank of gas. The car was parked near a bridge that spans the rushing Carbon River, but Zach was nowhere to be found. With no clues or leads as to what happened, Zach appeared to vanish into thin air that day, and no one has seen or heard from him since. Shady characters, odd clues, and a deep history prior to his disappearance have left Zach’s family members struggling to find answers.

Last week, we brought you the first part of Melissa Highsmith’s story. On August 23, 1971, 21-month-old Melissa was abducted by a woman who responded to a classified ad her mother placed in the local newspaper. Or, at least, that’s the story that Melissa’s mother and roommate told police when they reported her missing. Was Melissa really abducted by this woman calling herself Ruth Johnson, or was there more to the story? And that’s just the beginning of the 50-year-old stone-cold mystery we’ve been chipping away at.

In March of 2011, 38-year-old Eric Franks disappeared from Saginaw, Michigan. The circumstances of Eric's disappearance were strange, and suspicious figures surrounded the case from the beginning. A unique series of events seemed to protect the suspicious figures. Despite a thorough investigation and execution of many search warrants, law enforcement struggled to come up with anything tangible. It was a frustrating case that went cold over the years. Then, in September of 2020, Eric's car was found after being hidden away in a garage for many years.
