Freida McFadden
There's someone at your front door—should you let them in? Find out in a riveting new thriller from global sensation and #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Housemaid, Freida McFadden!
Who knows what the storm will blow in…
Casey's cabin in the wilderness is not built for a hurricane. Her roof shakes, the lights flicker, and the tree outside her front door sways ominously in the wind. But she's a lot more worried about the girl she discovers lurking outside her kitchen window.
She's young. She's alone. And she's covered in blood.
The girl won't explain where she came from, or loosen her grip on the knife in her right hand. And when Casey makes a disturbing discovery in the middle of the night, things take a turn for the worse.
The girl has a dark secret. One she'll kill to keep. And if Casey gets too close to the truth, she may not live to see the morning.
In this taut, deadly tale of survival and desperation, #1 New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden explores how far one girl will go to save herself.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (but honestly… I’m still deciding 👀)
Okay y’all… I just finished The Intruder by Freida McFadden and my brain is still trying to process everything I just read. This woman always finds a way to mess with my head — and this one did exactly that.
So here’s what I know:
The story follows Casey, who’s actually Elisabeth, and she’s been living this new life trying to bury her past. Then there’s Anton, her old lover or friend (depending on how you see it), who’s supposed to be dead but is actually in prison. His daughter Ella shows up, full of questions and secrets, and somehow Elisabeth ends up living near Bradley, Anton’s brother. 😵💫
By the end, I was like… wait a minute. Anton’s alive? Bradley and Elisabeth might be a thing? Did he ever ask his brother about her? Because that last prison scene had me side-eyeing everyone. Freida dropped all these emotional bombs, then just walked away like, “Good luck figuring it out.” 😂
It honestly felt like a cliffhanger — the kind that leaves you staring at the last page hoping another chapter magically appears. I don’t even know how I feel right now — part confused, part shocked, and part wanting to call Freida myself and ask for answers.
But that’s the beauty (and the madness) of her books, right? She makes you feel everything — the frustration, the curiosity, the “WHAT just happened?!”
If you’ve read it, please tell me what you think happened at the end because I’m stuck between loving it and needing therapy. 🤯
WTH did I just read? Ugh 😩
