Story
We are all indebted to Carl Watner for uncovering an unknown work by the great Lysander Spooner, one that managed to escape the editor of Spooner’s Collected Works. Both the title and the substance of “Vices are not Crimes” highlight the unique role that morality and moral principle had for Spooner among the anarchists and libertarians of his day. For Spooner was the last of the great natural-rights theorists among anarchists, classical liberals, or moral theorists generally.

Story
The second edition of the fun and fascinating guide to the main ideas of the Austrian School of economics, written in sparkling prose, especially for the non-economist. Gene Callahan shows that good economics isn't about government planning or statistical models - it's about human beings and the choices they make in the real world. This may be the most important book of its kind since Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson. Though written for the beginner, it has been justly praised by scholars too, including Israel Kirzner, Walter Block, and Peter Boettke.

Insanity seems to rule the financial markets and many investors are driven by delusion and anxiety. Could everything you thought you knew about investing be wrong? The Austrian School’s approach provides the needed respite for investors caught in inflationary treadmills. Conventional investment experts often overlook economic developments, which may become a hazard for mainstream investors. Instead, the Austrian School of Economics has proved itself as an independent approach beyond the interests of politicians and bankers.

Why do the USA, UK and Europe so hate Russia? How it is that Western antipathy, once thought due to anti-Communism, could be so easily revived over a crisis in distant Ukraine, against a Russia no longer communist? Why does the West accuse Russia of empire-building, when 15 states once part of the defunct Warsaw Pact are now part of NATO, and NATO troops now flank the Russian border? What is the source of the Trump-Russia probe?

At the Southern Baptist Convention's annual meeting in 1917, he offered a peace resolution in opposition to the pro-war wing of his denomination.
