Publisher's summary

"I'm going to die a hundred years before I was born...."

The handwritten note was in a dusty trunk that sat in a cave untouched for 150 years. What did the words mean? When journalist Ray Burton finds the trunk near the Arizona ghost town of Hollow Rock, his life changes in an instant.

Something in the trunk shouldn’t be there.

This begins a dangerous journey of discovery bordering on the impossible. A discovery that will affect the past, the present, and the future.

This is a really good time travel story!

This audiobook is an adventurous story of time travel. It captures your attention and takes you on a ride. It raises interesting possibilities. Would you do whatever it would take to get back to your own time? Would you travel back in time to your favorite era if you had the opportunity, despite personal risk? Would you be concerned about changing history through your actions?

Some of the characters are likeable; others not so much. The book does not portray the various time periods as glamorous or romantic. It portrays them in a harsh reality.

Author Andrew Cunningham spins a really good tale. Listeners will feel like they are with the characters. Narrator Greg Hernandez has a pleasant voice and does a great job.

I liked it

the story was good but the narration was dry. without actually reading the words it's easy to see that there were very few contractions... very clinical.

Recording is strange; firs syllables are cut off.

Is he using voice activated equipment?
Interesting story though.

Time travel

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Greg Hernandez. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

I’ve read other books by Andrew Cunningham and especially enjoyed the Eden Rising series, so I was happy to listen to this book. Yestertime is a time travel novel and it was pretty good, but not my favorite one by the author.

The problems with time travel are explored in this book. The premise is a good one but it was difficult for me to keep track of all the different characters and where and when they were originally from. I did find the idea of portals and portal finders interesting.

Many of the characters are supposed to be professionals working on the secret of time travel but they have a lot of trouble keeping the secret which didn’t seem probable to me.

The narrator did a good job. His tone and pace were good, and he has narrated other books that I’ve listened to. That’s always a plus in my opinion especially in his case. It took me a while the first time I listened to him to get used to his style, but since I’m familiar with him now, it worked for me.

3.5 stars.

It past the time

Here is the thing. It was a different approach to the other time travel books I have listen too and was enjoyable. It was hard to decide if the narrator was a new auto reader that sounded more human or if it was a real person who spoke with boxed lines like an auto reader? Sometimes you could overlook it and sometimes it was just very obvious and made it harder to concentrate on the actual story. So I gave it 4 stars because like I said it was a tolerable narration and the story was 👍 good 😊

Great book

The narration could be better. Somehow the narration was a little off. I don’t know how to explain it but the emotions were wrong at different times.

fair

the story interesting. The story and character construction is fair. But the natrator ruins it with his monotone, run-on reading.

story ok, narrated poorly

I'm pretty sure the only reason I didn't love this book is because of how poorly it was narrated. I don't like to complain but I just have to. Gregg sounds like a robot. It is so bad that he was putting me to sleep even during the action parts.

Decent story, not great writing, terrible narration

Great idea for a story but the execution was way off. Only buy if it is on discount or in a 2 for 1 sale.
