Publisher's summary

How can you believe all this stuff? This is the number one question Catholics get asked - and, sometimes, we ask ourselves. Why do we believe that God exists, that he became a man and came to save us, that what looks like a wafer of bread is actually his body? Why do we believe that he inspired a holy book and founded an infallible Church to teach us the one true way to live?

Ever since he became Catholic, Trent Horn has spent a lot of time answering these questions, trying to explain to friends, family, and total strangers the reasons for his faith. Some didn't believe in God or even in the existence of truth. Others said they were spiritual but didn't think you needed religion to be happy. Some were Christians who thought Catholic doctrines overcomplicated the pure gospel. And some were fellow Catholics who had a hard time understanding everything they professed to believe on Sunday.

Why We're Catholic assembles the clearest, friendliest, most helpful answers that Trent learned to give to all these people and more. Beginning with how we can know reality and ending with our hope of eternal life, it's the perfect way to help skeptics and seekers (or Catholics who want to firm up their faith) understand the evidence that bolsters our belief - and brings us joy.

Great! Very helpful explanations!

I’ve taught RCIA for over 10 years and I will definitely use some of this book going forward. It’s gives a surprisingly good explanation of each topic even though the chapters are very short. Well done!

Excellent read/ listen for all

Great for Catholics/ non-Catholics as well as atheists or agnostics . Wherever you are in your journey this is a great book to help one understand the basics of the Why Catholics are Catholic.

The author reads the book himself and which is always a plus I hope that his other books will make it to audible as well!!!

Highly recommend - Many Questions Answered

I enjoyed listening to this book greatly. I received it in paperback as a gift from a friend but due to a busy schedule was struggling to find time to complete it.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about Christianity and the Catholic church.
The book answers many questions or potential areas of contention smoothly and logically, yet in terms a layman could understand. The information given provides answers concerning the Christian faith and Catholicism and provides many quotes and citations of persons who are not of the Catholic church which diversifies who the author can appeal to with them.
The audio quality was great, pleasant to listen to without background noise or feedback present.

A must read!

I was really happy to hear Trent narrate his own book. That was a major plus.

An Orthodox Christian Review

I thought this was a super concise but broadly accurate explanation on the Catholic faith. It hits the major themes like heaven, hell, God's existence (philosophical as well as theological), the church's authority, Mother Mary, moral duties, and sacraments. I think it's a good book for anyone interested in being introduced to authentic Catholic Christian tradition without wanting to pour over all the minutiae of doctrine. I am orthodox but I enjoyed the material because Catholic and Orthodox do overlap plus it's great to hear Trent Horn read his own thoughts and stories.

Simple yet incredibly smart. A well written book for catholic or non-Catholic. The explanation of the trinity is remarkable.

Perfect Book

We all have questions even growing up in the Catholic faith. This book has answered so many questions and also reminded me of things I have forgotten in my faith.
In today’s world, everyone argues everything and as a Catholic it is hard to know how to defend God and faith.
Thank you!
