If you could sum up Case for Christ, Revised & Updated in three words, what would they be?

Inquisitive, Thorough, Spiritual

Who was your favorite character and why?

I wouldn't say I had a favorite character; rather, I was impressed with the faith and passion of all the experts.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

My biggest complaint is that it was hard to follow who was speaking. The narrator would sometimes take quotes from the one he was interviewing, sometimes he would paraphrase, and sometimes he would comment on their content. He would weave in and out of these perspectives which made it difficult to separate his views from those of the experts.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could have easily done so due to the passion and excitement of the reader; however, there is a lot of information and analysis so after a while your brain starts to hurt and it is better to think on the content and come back later.

Any additional comments?

Overall I genuinely loved the book. I have never been a religious person and have always envied those who have, as I called it, "blind faith." I was the one to say; "How can anyone believe all those mythical stories!" even though i had no knowledge of the religion beyond a few years of CCD as a child. This book completely changed the way I think about Christianity because I realized that there is a lot of historical information to back up the claims of Christianity especially when compared to other historical information that we take as fact. I would recommend this book for anyone looking to broaden your understanding of WHY people have the faith that they hold so strongly. Its changed my life as I am now a believer.

Biased Case for Christ

it's a good read, but as the title states, it's a case FOR Christ. so the author only interviews people he knows have positive views of Christ. The author on occasion will mention an opposing view, but its always debunked by the person he's interviewing. For example, one chapter asks whether Jesus was crazy and of course the author interviews a phycologist who has a very positive view of Jesus sanity. I'm sure there are phycologist who might think Jesus was delusional, but that's not who the author is going to interview. I eventually felt I was wasting my time knowing I'm not getting an unbiased examination of Jesus, but was instead only getting information that would fit the pro Christ narrative.

This is an exceptional book!

I didn't know the background of this book before I ordered it, just stumbled across it and found the story intriguing. It is definitely written to be read (listened to) by both believers and non-believers. As a believer already, this book strengthened my faith dramatically, which was very exciting to me! I'd give it my highest recommendation.

Wow. Blown away. Recovered a struggling faith.

Struggling with the ability to historically and anthropologically defend a faith I claim...this book Reignighted in me a flame to not just believe because I do. But to dive deeper. Seek more. And ultimately realize the true historical and spiritual Jesus.

Awesome Book

This was such a great book, a must read for any Christian. I now need to see the movie.
