Great Book
This book is a top shelf resource for sure. It answered many questions that I have posed in conversation with my PCP wherein I came away with no good answers. I purchased the audio book, and the narrator, Lauren Pedersen, was superb.
I recommend this book to anyone struggling to know why they are feeling like they do. It’s not always depression, and Dr Stein gives the reader the tools to dig deep to find answers.

Great book to challenge how we look at our health
Listened as an audio book, enjoyed the book greatly. Very well narrated by Lauren Pedersen.
It touches on underlying causes for diseases that are more and more common in today's world. Everything from trauma (physical, emotional) to changes in our food supply is contributing to our overall health in real ways. The author explains how these can cause a chain of reactions in our body, with real examples that are medically proven. Modern medicine often treats the symptoms without asking questions or testing to find the root cause.
At times can seem almost overwhelming (soaps, lotions, foods, food containers) but as the author tells her patients: Be Curious. She does not take a hard line with cutting everything from your life, just be open minded to all the sources that can contribute to our health, how your body reacts, and how to get it back in balance
Would recommend for anyone battling mental health issues, autoimmune disorders and everyone else just wanting to learn more about functional medicine and living our healthiest life - and this book can help you advocate for your own health.
