A rom-com-obsessed romantic waiting for her perfect leading man learns that life doesn’t always go according to a script in this delightfully charming and funny novel.

Annie Cassidy dreams of being the next Nora Ephron. She spends her days writing screenplays, rewatching Sleepless in Seattle, and waiting for her movie-perfect meet-cute. If she could just find her own Tom Hanks—a man who’s sweet, sensitive, and possibly owns a houseboat—her problems would disappear and her life would be perfect. But Tom Hanks is nowhere in sight.

When a movie starts filming in her neighborhood and Annie gets a job on set, it seems like a sign. Then Annie meets the lead actor, Drew Danforth, a cocky prankster who couldn’t be less like Tom Hanks if he tried. Their meet-cute is more of a meet-fail, but soon Annie finds herself sharing some classic rom-com moments with Drew. Her Tom Hanks can’t be an actor who’s leaving town in a matter of days...can he?

My 5 star rating is based on the genre, not comparing this to Dickens or Hemingway. But I needed a light fun read and this filled the bill exactly. Lots of references to classic romantic comedy movies, particular those starring Tom Hanks. A fun “Pride and Prejudice” type twist as well. The narrator has the cutest voice - perfect for this light book. Pretty clean - some sexual situations but overall like PG-13.

If you've ever watched a romantic comedy (or ten!), this book is exactly for you. It's cliche, it's fluff and it's perfect if you're looking for mindless entertainment. I read this while riding my bicycle because, like all rom-coms, if you miss a paragraph or two, have you really missed anything? But it is fun and if you're looking for truly light, summertime entertainment this is your book.

I really loves this book.
I had high expectations, because I am a huge romance movie fan, especially Tom Hanks movies.
I felt like Annie was a truly relatable character and you spent the whole book on the edge of yur seat needing to see how her story would turn out.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a happily ever after.

I listened to Very Sincerely Yours, and liked it so much that I ordered Waiting for Tom Hanks. I had no connection with the heroine at all. Very Sincerely Years was written in third person, so the reader got to meet the hero and heroine's families and friends. I learned so much about them, and it made the book great. This might have been better in third person.

Very Sincerely Yours was much better
