His strengths shine in male characters, especially curious boys and men in conversation. He regularly plays with accents, making memorable a couple of recurring characters. Very Good for Periodic Reading

I realize that perhaps not everyone likes Short Stories, but as a mid 70 year old senior, I do.I listen a lot at bed time so I tend to far asleep with long books. I think Tom Hanks did a very commendable job with this collection of Short Stories. I enjoyed them all.
A short story comes in handy during a long wait in a doctors office, or on a car trip.

I am going out on a limb,here,but I think Tom Hanks likes typewriters. I like this book. I enjoyed listening to Tom Hanks read his collection of short stories, all of which include a typewriter.

Unique outlook

Tom presents us with some short stories that have the common link of containing a manual typewriter in each story. Short stories always offer the opportunity to explore unique ideas that may be quite interesting but might not stand up to a book length tail. This book doesn't disappoint.

Tom narrates well. We are comfortable with his voice and who knows the intentions of his stories better?

I loved listening to these stories written and narrated by Tom Hanks. They were like listening to a friend telling you a funny, or interesting story while you share a glass of wine in your living room.

The lost art of storytelling resurrected

Tom Hanks does a magnificent job of storytelling in this collection of short stories. Through the telling of each story, he manages to draw the reader in and carefully paints vivid images in the readers mind as though you watching the story play out on the big screen. My only complaint is that the audiobook could use better separation between the stories. I found myself wondering more than once if I had started a new story or the previous was still playing. This did not overshadow this wonderful audiobook though and I would highly recommend it.

Extraordinary storytelling, wit, and compassion.

Mr. Hanks provides a wonderful experience in the fine art of storytelling reminiscent of the stories my grandfather shared at family gatherings. I am hopeful another volume is in the works.

Good to the last drop!

Is there nothing he can't do? Delightful stories that are fun and engaging. Some had me on the edge of my seat! Would Steve bowl that perfect game for the hundred grand? You'll just have to read....er, uh...listen to find out!
