The Unhoneymooners meets The Hating Game in this breezy debut romantic comedy about life - and love - 30,000 feet above the ground.

After 10 years as a flight attendant, Ava Greene is poised to hang up her wings and finally put down roots. She's got one trip left before she bids her old life farewell, and she plans to enjoy every second of it. But then, she discovers that former pilot Jack Stone - the absurdly gorgeous, ridiculously cocky man she's held a secret grudge against for year - is on her flight. And he has the nerve to flirt with her, as if he doesn't remember the role he played in the most humiliating night of her life. Good thing she never has to see him again after they land....

But when their plane encounters mechanical problems, what should have been a quick stop at the Belize airport suddenly becomes a weekend layover. Getting stuck on a three-hour flight with her nemesis was bad enough. Being stranded with him at a luxury resort in paradise? Even with the sultry breeze and white sand to distract her, it will take all the rum punch in the country to drown out his larger-than-life presence.

Yet the more time Ava spends with him under the hot Caribbean sun, the more she begins to second-guess everything she thought she knew about him...and everything she thought she wanted from her life. And all too soon, she might have to choose between keeping her feet on the ground and her head in the clouds....

The ability to make you feel you were on the adventure with “the crew” was wonderful.

Along for the vacation

this was a cute clean romantic comedy about two flight attendants male and female that thought that they just liked each other but they really just didn't come to know each other until they had a layover in Belize longer than expected due to plane troubles. the love hate relationship worked itself out as they were totally themselves and started to look at each other in a different way. this book I gave this book four stars because I felt intended to be a little drawn out but overall it was a cute clean story

cute story but could have been a little shorter

A super cute and funny rom-com that had me giggling and a bit teary at times. A perfect debut novel by flight attendant and now published author Lacie Waldon. Such amazing and likable characters. Two I disliked was the captain of the flight. Who was beyond stiff and boring haha, but he made up for it in the car ride at the end. The other one I didn't like was definitely Alexander. The hell I would let him make all kinds of decisions and not listen to me. I would never be in a relationship like that. Over all a beautiful love story and I loved the banter between our two protagonists. Congratulations Lacie! I can't wait to read what you write next

Romanticly Sweet

initially I was irritated with the main character for how mean-spirited she was towards her coworker, Jack, but after the hotel room confession it made more sense.
after that the story becomes a good slow burn and is filled with substance instead of overly descriptive sexual situations. all the characters are likeable, except the fiance and the narration is spot on.
definitely worth the credit!

very cute story!

I adored this book and would highly recommend it. I would give it a PG-13 rating for sex and language. It was definitely worth it to listen through the author's acknowledgements because they were very charming.

A great read!

This was a very cute and easy read/listen! I know it was Lacie Waldon's debut novel and it was definitely a great start to her career.

Characters were quite well-developed, and you could tell she has a background as a flight attendant with all of her attention to the details of the job and exactly what takes place during flight and the requirements during the layover and how scheduling works. That part of the research was innate!

Being in travel myself, I really loved this story, seeing another part of the puzzle. The chemistry between all of the characters - between Ava and Jack as well as between Ava and Anna (and even Ava and Pilot Paul) - was beautifully crafted, and the storyline was something we don't see in any other romance novels out there.

It was a slow burn story between a one-sided enemies to lovers type of trope, after Ava experiences some heartbreak from an unsuited relationship. I did have some discomfort with how that relationship aspect was handled, and do wish there was some more steam, but overall was a great story.

A good debut, a cute read

this is obviously another enemies to lovers trope, but with fun twists and added depth that made it believable and enjoyable.

cute, fun, couldn't stop listening

This was a cute, quick read. The main thing that bugged me while listening was that the main character seemed to irrationally hate Jack. Her hatred ran so deep. It didn’t feel like her it was realistic (or justified), especially when we find out why she hates Jack. It simply seemed too flimsy a reason. For me, it was hard to stay immersed in the book when I kept thinking how unrealistic her internal monologue was.
