Tom Felton’s adolescence was anything but ordinary. His early rise to fame in beloved films like The Borrowers catapulted him into the limelight, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after he landed the iconic role of the Draco Malfoy, the bleached blonde villain of the Harry Potter movies. For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. Speaking with great candor and his signature humor, Tom shares his experience.

Story
'Between the Stops is a sort of a memoir, my sort. It's about a bus trip really, because it's my view from the Number 12 bus (mostly top deck, the seat at the front on the right), a double-decker that plies its way from Dulwich, in South East London, where I was living, to where I sometimes work - at the BBC, in the heart of the capital. It's not a sensible way to write a memoir at all, probably, but it's the way things pop into your head as you travel, so it's my way'.

Story
Most people know Andrew McCarthy from his movie roles in Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo's Fire, Weekend at Bernie's, and Less Than Zero, and as a charter member of Hollywood's Brat Pack. That iconic group of ingenues and heartthrobs has come to represent both a genre of film and an era of pop culture. In his memoir, McCarthy focuses his gaze on that singular moment in time. The result is a revealing look at coming of age in a maelstrom, reckoning with conflicted ambition, innocence, addiction, and masculinity.

Throughout the tough moments, Brendan always had humour and a good story to tell alongside the ever-guiding inspiration of his own Mammy, a formidable figure who became Ireland's first female Labour MP, all whilst raising eleven children by herself.

The answer came not long after, when he roared back in a new role as stand-up-comedian, playing to sold-out houses wherever he appeared. And then COVID-19 struck. And his legions of fans began asking again: What is Rick Mercer going to do now? Well, for one thing, he's been writing a comic masterpiece.

From getting his big break as Third Shepherd in the school nativity play, to mistaking a Hollywood star for an estate agent, Hugh Bonneville creates a brilliantly vivid picture of a career on stage and screen. What is it like working with Judi Dench and Julia Roberts, or playing Robert De Niro’s right leg, or not being Gary Oldman, twice? A wickedly funny storyteller, Bonneville also writes with poignancy about his father’s dementia and of his mother, whose life in the secret service emerged only after her death.

When Star Wars burst on to the big screen in 1977, an unfailingly polite golden droid called C-3PO captured imaginations around the globe. But C-3PO wasn’t an amazing display of animatronics with a unique and unforgettable voice-over. Inside the metal costume was an actor named Anthony Daniels. In this deeply personal memoir, Anthony Daniels recounts his experiences of the epic cinematic adventure that has influenced pop culture for more than 40 years. For the very first time, he candidly describes his most intimate memories as the only actor to appear in every Star Wars film.

Publisher's summary
It is estimated that there are more than a million professional voice actors in the world. It is by nature, a largely hidden profession but nonetheless is one that annually generates more than $4.5 billion globally.
Voice Over Man is a fascinating insight into the life of one of the world’s most prolific voiceover artists. It’s a frank and very personal account of his career. Not in the full glare of the spotlight, but in the dark spaces behind the scenes that the public never gets to see. From barking like a dog on pet food commercials - to his universally recognised work on the world’s biggest television shows - The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent together with countless video games and live events - he recounts the highs and lows of his deeply unconventional career. If you liked The Larry Sanders Show, W1A, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Toast Oo London - you’ll love this!
Unlike Kleenex or Clorox, Peter Dickson is not a household name, so while he may not be very effective at or indeed remotely interested in cleaning under your rim or around your U-Bend, his voice is heard in every household in the United Kingdom and beyond; every hour of every day, of every year. From selflessly lending his vocal talent to radio and TV commercials, video games, documentaries, radio programmes, interactive telephone systems, corporate audio and video productions, game shows and family-friendly TV broadcast entertainment behemoths, he is quite literally all over the ruddy place!
This is a book which will appeal to anyone who has ever wondered what actually goes on behind the scenes on TV and radio. It’s a frank and very personal account of a life lived in the media. Not in the full glare of the spotlight on the shiny floor in front of the camera, but in the dark spaces the public never get to see; the voice booths, control rooms, offices, dressing rooms and dimly lit corridors backstage.
Peter Dickson has been a professional voiceover artist for 45 years. He has worked in all sectors of the entertainment industry and alongside many of its biggest stars. He has been the voice of more than 200 TV series - many of them multi-award-winning - and the promo voice for more than 60 TV channels. He has acted on more than 30 of the world’s top-selling AAA game titles and has voiced more than 30,000 TV and radio commercials. He founded and co-owns GravyfortheBrain.com - the world’s biggest online voiceover training school and mentoring resource for established and aspiring voice talent. He also founded and co-owns ReAttendance.com - the global virtual events platform. He has an honours degree in psychology, is a member of British Actors Equity and the Chartered Institute of Journalists and is understandably, ever so slightly knackered.

Great anecdotes - worth using up a spare "Credit"
This is an entertaining and interesting look behind the scenes of what really goes on in the world of TV and radio seen through the eyes of someone whose voice is a household name (if you get my drift!). What I really liked about it is the various snippets of information about shows that I know and famous people who have graced them but all seen from a different vantagepoint than what we are used to. Told from the point of view of an insider, Voice Over Man shares the tricks of the trade and is full of wonderful anecdotes. If you have a spare Audible credit and you aren't sure what to spend it on, then this is a good Wild Card. Alternatively if you want to try before you buy, check out the Podcast with Peter Dickson on Iain Dale All Talk. It whet my appetite and persuaded me to get this book and it's been great fun.

Not really an Extraordinary Story.
This book might be fascinating for someone living in the UK but for people who live elsewhere it is actually pretty boring. The people and shows he talks about are not familiar to us and he doesn't really have a terribly interesting life.

Story
One of the most successful music acts of all time, Dire Straits filled stadiums around the world. Their albums sold hundreds of millions of copies and their music - classics like “Sultans of Swing”, “Romeo and Juliet", “Money for Nothing”, and “Brothers in Arms” - is still played on every continent today. There was, quite simply, no bigger band on the planet throughout the '80s. In this powerful and entertaining memoir, founding member John Illsley gives the inside track on the most successful rock band of their time.

Hello there. Welcome to my autobiography. Throughout this audiobook I talk about my life and work, including Little Britain, Come Fly with Me, Bridesmaids, Les Miserables, Alice in Wonderland and, of course, Shooting Stars. The thing is, this is a bit different to most memoirs you may have listened to, because it comes in the form of an A-Z. Anyway, I hope you buy it at least twice. Thank you.

Story
From getting his big break as Third Shepherd in the school nativity play, to mistaking a Hollywood star for an estate agent, Hugh Bonneville creates a brilliantly vivid picture of a career on stage and screen. What is it like working with Judi Dench and Julia Roberts, or playing Robert De Niro’s right leg, or not being Gary Oldman, twice? A wickedly funny storyteller, Bonneville also writes with poignancy about his father’s dementia and of his mother, whose life in the secret service emerged only after her death.
