Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands brings the heat in this new Argeneau novel, as one woman is rescued by an irresistible immortal....

“Vampires...”

When Raffaele Notte pulls a barely dressed, disoriented woman from the ocean, the last thing he expects is for her to utter that word. The immortal has come to the island resort to help his cousin, but now, it seems, there are rogue vampires dining on unsuspecting tourists. And he soon realizes that not only is Jess a target, she’s also the life mate for whom he’s been waiting....

Vampires are real. Jess would’ve never believed it until she saw them with her own eyes. She knows she has to get off the island, and her gallant rescuer has offered to help. There’s something about Raffaele that’s unlike any man she has ever met, and his touch sends pleasure through her that is beyond all imagining. But when Jess discovers who he really is, will she risk life as she knows it for a chance of forever by his side?

Horrible narration...Story was anticlimactic

Don't get Audiobook. Worst narrator ever. don't waste your $ .Book itself is alright...I've read every argeneau book and I dislike heroine. Too whiney.. Hard to get invested or like it. I usually love this series...

I was really looking forward to this book :-(

The narrator sounds like a male alexa. The voice sounds detached and scripted to the point that I can barely stay interested in the story! Not even through the 1st chapter and I doubt I will be able to even finish that!!! The names are all pronounced wrong and the there is no emotion in the reading! Please rerecord and rerelease! I love this series but for the love of all things holy.... this is AWFUL!!!!

Why are these heroines so blah...

So this is this is number 28 in the Argeneau series. There are a lot of books that I enjoyed and some that I do not. This was down the middle. I have this thing about dumb heroines doing dumb things. Jesse was doing dumb things all over the place. Also I have read enough books in this series to understand the whole life mate things but she takes it to a whole new level. I really hope in the upcoming books the heroine is more of old then what has been happening as of late.

I also wish that Lynsay Sands finds a narrator for this series because it is getting a bit old listening to 25 different narrators trying to pronounce certain names that I have gotten used to.

meh

Not as good as previous ones ... disappointing as I look forward to each new offering. Hope the next one is back to the story level I have come to expect from Ms. Sands.

Meh

I waited for this book for it seems like years. I feel a little let down. Ever read a book and you didn't like it but you can't really say why? This was one for me.

This book was just ok for me. Parts were annoying. Parts was too wordy. Parts made me smile and laugh. I know it's a good book when I still think about it after it's done. I think this will be forgotten quite easily.

Jess annoyed me a lot. Her inner dialog drove me crazy. Rafaele was a bit better. I seem to like all the male characters Ms. Sands writes.

After reading the reviews on Amazon I seem to be the only one who didn't like it very much.

Not worthy of the price

I’m sorry I purchased this book! The performance, storyline was horrible. I stopped listening to the book in the 3 chapter and went to the end and marked finished. Take my advice and don’t waste your time!

A total flop

This is by far the worst book in the series. The story is completely unremarkable and felt like a drag throughout. It contained far too many repeats of things that readers of this series already know. The performer reading this book was far from great and sounded ridiculous when reading the female parts.

disappointment for a great series

I'm really sad by this, but this was a total flop!! The two things I love about these books is the quirky comedy and the guaranteed intense chemistry between the characters. This book was sorely lacking on both ends. I think she attempted humor with the pirate and his horrible language, but while I curse like a sailor I was not amused by the disgusting sexual slang he constantly threw at Jess. secondly while I can appreciate her trying to make a new story line with the 2 possible life mates thing it just distracted from the character chemistry. Thirdly, I really disliked the characters. Jess was supposed to be this sweet strong girl who overcame so much, but she judged everyone, and instead of seeing the facts in front of her she just went ahead with her own judgements and conclusions. Raphaele (probably miss spelled that) was not a very strong character like I enjoyed from the immortal men of this series. Lastly, I was really disappointed by the fact that there wasnt a lot of cool immortal stuff, it was mostly a human book. it lacked action and humor leaving the whole story boring overall. I will still read future books in this series cause I have hope the next will be up to standard!

side thought: I got the vibe she might make a novel about the pirate captain and goodness that would be so hard to get through. His character while sweet, was just seriously cringeworthy gross.

Really Disappointed, not up to her typical par.

The first thing that was off, was the narration. He sounded like a robot, but sounded better when he did an accent. The 2nd thing is way the story was written, most of it occured in each main character's minds. There were multiple times when things were mentioned that didn't need to be mentioned and even in the story, the character said "I should not have thought/said that". It really did not sound like a book written by Lynsay Sands. Finally the overall story was predictable, yet at the same time did not make sense. How many people who are "not in shape" can swim 4 hours and then be up to running around...Why did it take them so long to just go to the front desk to see if she could get a room key? Then it didn't make sense how easily Vasko gave Jess Up...really?

Absolutely brilliant

I have no idea why some of the reviews are negative for the narrator of this book. I think he did an absolute fine job with the accents especially Vasco. I was in splits each time Vasco spoke. The story was great with its usual Lynsay Sands wit and charm. It’s a 5 star for me.

Vampires like it hot

Nothing screams hot like vampires in the tropics. This is a wonderful addition to this series and it is good learning about the other branches of family. The introduction of pirates keeps the stories fresh and interesting.
