Huh… Kinda disappointing.

Don’t get me wrong Lucian showed up and was his lovely self, but the hero of this book is one of Basil’s children and I always am a little disappointed every time we get one of Basil’s children as a main character but no Basil in the book. And while Crispin tells Avril that he has siblings, he never really clarifies that there were 26 but 4 died. And Trigger Warning: domestic abuse is mentioned. Avril’s entire backstory is about the domestic abuse that she suffered from and escaped as a teenager but then we get a scene where her younger sister is forced to be the bride in the marriage Avril escaped but there’s no mention of the younger sister ever escaping. So… I guess she’s just fine knowing these immortal people can read and control people, but let’s not like even ask about making a quick visit with her bio family and check to see if we could save the sister at this point in time? Now grant it, a little bit of me is hoping that Lucian is making a pit stop on his way home. But seriously? Couldn’t we have at least gotten an epilogue where the sister was given a choice to leave the abusive husband that Avril dumped on her?

37 is still not enough

Lisa Flanagan does an excellent job bringing this amazing story to life. I don't know how Lynsay Sands does it. Each book in this series is exciting and new.

Immortal By Morning is no exception. I downloaded it last night and only managed 4 hours of sleep because I couldn't put it down. The Argeneau clan is hunting down rogues and saving mortals in action-packed excitement, mixed with scintillating romance, and some of giggles. Book 37 just came out and I am already jonesing for number 38.
