Publisher's summary

In this captivating chronicle, Heather Johnston shares how God took her away from her safe southern social circle and planted within her an unexplainable love for the people of Israel. God then thrust her into their politics which are adverse and led her to build on their land which is most contested. It was unnerving, unlikely, and audacious - but completely and utterly crafted by the Holy Spirit.

Uncommon Favor cuts through the confusion of modern cultural definitions and examines the way Jesus prepared His talmidim, or disciples, in the first century and what he required of them. Indeed, the life of a true disciple is one of steadfast love and chutzpah, or raw nerve. It is about hearing and following him. It is about risking everything. It is the rhythm of utter helplessness and divine power. It is coming under his yoke, faithfully, for a lifetime. Discover the intentional life of Jesus’ talmidim - and become one of the intrepid few who embrace his purposes with ardor and abandonment.

I thoroughly enjoyed Uncommon Favor!

I thoroughly enjoyed Uncommon Favor, where Heather Johnston reminded me that becoming a disciples “Talmid” of God is a higher calling with supernatural rewards and remarkable outcomes for my life and the lives of others!
Heather is, witty and engaging! She shows her characteristically, composed, passion for doing God’s work, against all odds!
She has the uncanny ability to create a thread between the Hebrew Scriptures and the life and mission of Jesus, all the way to and through modern life.
She reminds us that we matter to God on an individual level and that we are all here for a reason! She shows that when our reasons align with His purpose or as Heather might say, when we “get on the King’s highway”, miraculously, things can and probably will happen!
I thank Heather for helping me see that more clearly!

Listening and following God’s voice

I loved Heather’s close relationship to God and how she was willing to step into what He was asking her to do. I see how that doesn’t happen unless you spend time with Him and care about what He cares about. Her story opened my eyes to care about Israel because my Father does and He can take my little life and make a difference if I am willing and I am.

Wow!

This book is gutsy and raw, so timely for the body of Christ. Well written and beautifully delivered.

Heather, you only skipped the stone.

Was so very disappointed, there is so much more to the story to be told.
