Narrator ruins it

It was a good story but switching narrators after 9 books has made this series drop out of my top 10 favorite series. The narrator has changed all the voices and made it not worth it anymore. make sure you listen to the preview before purchasing.

So hard to get passed the narrator

I miss Johnathan McLain!! The current one sounds like Emperor Palpatine when he voices as Bob. Mr. McLain made the characters really come to life. It really sucks when you change narrators when the prior was there from the beginning. This could tank the story and the audio series doing this.

narrator is horrible

The new narrator has a very limited voice range. Makes it hard to get into the story.

Hate the voices

nothing like the characters used to sound. sorry is still good. but I couldn't get over the voices. hate it.

A great book made unlistenable by the Narrator.

First the good. This writing and story as usual is amazing. While there isn't as much action in this book as most of the previous ones, it is made obvious that this book sets up a lot of what is to come. I loved the evolving family and "family" dynamics as the characters came to grip with their new powers and responsibilities.

But sadly we have to get into the bad. And that is the narrator. If I could give the performance negative stars I would. I get that narrator changes happen and they are often viewed negatively. I always try to give them a fair chance but this was just terrible. There was no consistency between character voices and often it was hard to tell one from another. He obviously did no research into how the previous narrator voiced the characters and has no respect for the author or his work.
