Publisher's summary

Iris Adams can't dance.

She can act. She can hike the Appalachian Trail. She can resist every carb known to womankind. She can make people laugh.

But she has no moves. Not even one.

Her lack of rhythm has never been an issue until she gets the chance to take her TV show to the big screen. The movie is sure to make her a household name - if she can just nail the Cajun dance scene.

Beau Landry is a minimalist. He doesn't even own a TV.

A South Louisiana native, Beau's mission in life is to preserve his Cajun culture. The full-time French teacher and part-time dance instructor is only working with this Hollywood head case to help out his uncle.

It's not because she's beautiful even when she's embarrassing herself. It's not because she's as funny as she is kind. And it's definitely not because she just might need him as much as he needs her.

Male narrator makes the listen worth while.

Sweet and fun storyline, but the female narrator was painfully A.I. sounding. I heard moments of potential and think perhaps she’s new at narration and just needs time and experience.

DNF due to female main character’s A.I.-like narration.

I really wanted to give this book a chance after hearing the female main character’s narration, but I couldn’t make it past chapter 7. It’s takes me out of the story. It’s so strange that when the dialogue is read, there’s inflection and emotion, but the rest of the lines are delivered so unnaturally cold and toneless. The male main character’s voice acting is enjoyable, though. The story was interesting, too, I’ll just have to pass on this audiobook version.

I do not enjoy leaving a bad review, but I don’t know how this is rated 5 stars and no one has mentioned this performance?

The narration ruins it

The female narration is atrocious. Sometimes it sounds like a person, but 95% it sounds like AI.

Cute story

Narrators’ reading was very robotic and unemotional. I had trouble connecting to the story because of the cadence.

Great story. Awful female narrator.

I've never reviewed a narrator's voice as being poor. But, if I didn't know better, I would swear that the female's voice was an AI creation. So robotic, it made this great story so rough to listen to at times.

Really trying to finish!

I really hate leaving a poor review. With that said, this book would probably be better if read. Listening to the female narrator is worse than listening to the text-to-voice narrator on my phone. The narrator is completely monotone with a hint of aloof and annoyed (a la Darla). I am trying to finish because Aidan Snow's narration is good. The story would be better if the female narrator was not so in her head. I get that she supposed to be 22, but she is childlike - more immature 16 y/o than "mature" 22 y/o - so it makes it difficult to get into her part of the story.
