This was an interesting book which I bought after listening to Mark on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. I really liked his demeanor and the facts he presented there. And already being on the keto diet for a couple of years his statement of "being on the keto diet is no way to live" got my attention. There is in my opinion a great deal of interesting ideas and also good, backed up science in here.

So it's too bad that the reader of the book is almost ruining the experience. His way of overexaggerating words and sentences is giving the impression of him reading this to children or mentally challenged adults sometimes which gets annoying real fast. He also have a tendency to half-laugh in random sentences that is not remotely funny (nor meant to be) and in fact only distracts from the content. I'm sure his intentions are to make the reading not boring and instead light-hearted but he should have found some better middel ground here.

Great content, bad reading

The book is great however I couldn’t finish it. The narrator is impossible to listen too. I actually wish I just had purchased the hard cover and could switch. It’s so bad to listen too I can’t even understand how it was approved.

Good content, bad Narrator

The book was fabulous. The narrator, Brad Kearns, was horrible. His fake laugh was very irritating and hard to listen to. Given the choice again, I would buy the physical book or eBook; hard pass on the audiobook version.

Great book, Badly narrated

Brilliant content and excellent narration. Will definitely listen to this again.

If you’re really into your health, don’t hesitate to purchase, the advance content at the end is worth the price of admission alone.

Excellent narration!

I have to admit, at the beginning I was bummed out that Mark Sisson didn’t read this book, but I was only showing my ignorance. Brad Kearns is the MAN. He clearly poured his heart into this. I’ve lost 20 lbs and never had more energy. Thanks, guys.

Bravo, Brad Kearns!
