Publisher's Summary

When Parker Avery takes Olivia Nelson's case, it sends her, Kay, and Iris to Nelspruit in search of a missing watch, but they soon find out the watch is more than a sentimental possession. It is an efficient device used to disarm large safes and assist in burglaries, and Olivia Nelson isn't the only one after it. The Avery Detective Agency finds themselves in conflict with a local group of criminals that want the watch just as much as they do, and in the midst of chaos, they are at risk of more than just losing a case.

Another good one in the series

This one picks up right after the first book “Sentiment to the Heart” and is just as good. It is short but packed with crime and mystery. The narrator does another great job as well. She speaks clearly and it’s easy to identify who is talking in the moment.

Good but not great

Good book but should have been longer. Story line is not as developed as the other books in this series but still a good listen. Worth adding ti your collection.

Good story

I really enjoyed the story but the dialogue felt very stilted. The conversations felt very formal and not natural for conversation. Aside from that I really like the story and am continuing this series. The story is short so things move quickly without as much detail or explanation as I might like but the main characters are likable it is an enjoyable read and I still want to finish the series.

Adventurous short story!

Parker, Kay and Iris in a foreign country, a lost watch, a case of mistaken identity, robbery and murder! What is so special about that watch? Why did the criminals follow them back to the states? What did the criminals want with Iris? Another adventurous short story that is interesting! Kris Szczesny narration is good giving each character their own voice and personality. 🎧audiobookobessionreview🎧

Skinny

This is the skinny version of what could be a great story. The characters are underdeveloped and plot development is thin. The love scene left something to be desired. The British/South African accent was not good. The story is good, but it could be meatier.

maybe 3.5 stars.

I was given this book through a promotional code so I'll give an honest review. the story has good promise and a nice outline. however, I'm not sure if it's the writing, the narrator, or both but I can't seem to take any of the action seriously. the stakes are supposed to be high but you never feel it. you never get a chance to care about what happens to anyone. the actions and dialogue seems robotic. the narrator switches tones perfectly but you never get a real sense of emotion; love, anger, fear, desire. you hear the words but you don't feel it. it almost doesn't seem real.

On the go again

Trusting Heart picks up for Kay and Parker and they are on another adventure. They are now looking for another item and it is putting their detective agency on the map. Iris, another employee of the agency, is now apart of this "ride" and she is looking for love but she has to get this job done.

This is a cute story and it can go so many places and I couldn't wait to see what the next story would bring. This is another short story and a quick listen!

A short, quick listen.

Another Parker and Kay short. A new case, and a chance for Iris to help.

There are lots of things happening in the story for a short.

A detective that keeps you asking for more

arker and Kay are in a relationship and Kay started working for the detective agency as well.
Parker and Kay receive a request to find a lost watch. They soon find out that this watch isn't just a watch but a device to unlock secured safes. Parker and Kay travel to together with Iris to Nelspruit to fund the watch. Once they are there they find themself in conflict with a criminal group. The (dead) leader of the criminals looks exactly like Iris and the criminals abduct Iris to be a standin.
Parker and Kay are not only looking for the watch but have to rescue Iris from the criminals.
This story is really well written and has a lot of twist and turns. It keeps you excited until the end and wonder if there are more books in the Avery Detective Series. And yay there is a book 3.
