These and many other legends are included by the author, who visited many of the sites himself. In one of the most fascinating parts of the book, the author describes in narrative the eerie, secluded burial ground of the tribe of Princess Scargo. In 1866, 12 men and women and one small child were forced aboard a leaky schooner and cast away to a natural prison on the Hawaiian island of Molokai. Two weeks later, a dozen others were exiled, and then 40 more, and then 100 more. Tracked by bounty hunters and torn screaming from their families, the luckless were loaded into shipboard cattle stalls and abandoned in a lawless place where brutality held sway. Many did not have leprosy, and most of those who did were not contagious.

The story is good but the chapters are out of order
The story is good but somehow the chapters are out of order according to the time. If I fall asleep and want to repeat a part of what I heard it’s not possible because there are also no chapter names. Please fix this so I can finish the book.
