The reader did a wonderful job with all the voices and the dramatizing of the story. This was wonderful to hear and never having the opportunity to see Alaska I certainly will consider going there.

Fell in love with Alaska!

Although the book is intimidating in length, the story and characters unfold in a fascinating way. The narrator does an awesome job in his tone and tenor. Tremendous way to learn about the history of such an imposing state. The characters are interwoven masterfully throughout the centuries. Sadly the plight of the native peoples touched the soul.....

As an avid reader and listener of audio books I recently discovered how much I enjoyed historical fiction ! James A. Michener has got to be at the top of any list. He is very entertaining,informative and historically accurate. Can’t wait to start another one and plan to listen to all he has written. Narrated superbly!

What a great Book

This tale of Alaska is compelling, interesting, very instructive, and sensitive to the myriad issues that make up our history.

I read this book shortly after returning from 14 days in Alaska. I ish that I had read it before I left. It is a wonderful book!!
