Publisher's Summary

The Wonderful World of Audiobooks will tell you how I discovered a work from home career (not just a job) that is fun, exciting, and fulfilling. What I hope for, the most, from writing this book is that I have helped you start on your path to a new and exciting career as an audiobook narrator and producer. Maybe, you are someone like me, who has been searching for just that right fit and hearing about this field strikes a chord within you. Or maybe you are an author looking to narrate your own book. Whoever you are and whatever your goals, this could be a life-changing career for you. I will tell you how I found a free five-day audiobook narration course and the instructor who set me on my new life-changing career path. You will find out about a fabulous website that puts authors and narrators together to produce audiobooks. I will tell you about one of those best-selling authors and my experience working with her. And I will tell you a little bit about me, and my life and experiences, since becoming an audiobook narrator and producer. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

Engaging and inspiring

This short listen left me better informed and smiling. It isn't an instruction book - don't expect step 1) step 2) etc, but the information is well-organised and apposite - it's like having an intelligent person with a fun personality who genuinely wants to help sit down next to you to explain how she started as a narrator from scratch, by way of personal experience and anecdote. It contains useful information about exactly where to start - where to find a free course that leads you directly into the work, and what to expect when you first begin to audition and work with authors. The genuineness of the author/narrator is brought out fully in her voice - 30 understated years of working as an entertainer certainly tell - and this offers a lesson in narration in itself.
