Publisher's Summary

In the much-anticipated sequel to the "magnificent fantasy epic" (NPR) Grace of Kings, Emperor Kuni Garu is faced with the invasion of an invincible army in his kingdom and must quickly find a way to defeat the intruders.

Kuni Garu, now known as Emperor Ragin, runs the archipelago kingdom of Dara but struggles to maintain progress while serving the demands of the people and his vision. Then an unexpected invading force from the Lyucu Empire in the far distant west comes to the shores of Dara - and chaos results.

But Emperor Kuni cannot go and lead his kingdom against the threat himself with his recently healed empire fraying at the seams, so he sends the only people he trusts to be Dara's savvy and cunning hopes against the invincible invaders: his children, now grown and ready to make their mark on history.

Wow highly recommend

If you like game of thrones. Star Wars. Yea this one is for you. This is absolutely perfect sf. For me it was unpredictable the dynasty goes on and their is more to come. The gods are still at it and when you think their is no problem along comes one big one. Marshal Zindu is highly missed in this second novel of the dandelion dynasty. Cannot wait for the third

A worthy successor to The Grace of Kings

What a great story! I can tell that Mr. Liu is playing the long game with this series. I have the sneaking suspicion that this series is going to be the next greatest epic Saga. Just a hunch though :D

Liu is brilliant

The dandelion dynasty is worthy of your attention. It is a fascinating exploration of the nature of power, and those who hold it. Original, brilliant, and thought provoking.

A epic that inspires and delights

Continuing the greatness from the 'Grace of King', this book wraps readers in its engaging lore and character building. The performance is stellar and the characters build the world so naturally.

A stew of betrayal ,hubris, innovation & slaughter

It is the way of power to seduce. Few can resist it. I loved the ebbs and flows of fortune.I recoiled from the slaughter. Is the common man ever going to get a break. Liu's answer is that this has never been nor will it ever be .

A most interesting sequel.

This book was very well written, covering a staggeringly large setting over more than a decade of time. While I liked the first book of this series better, that in no way means that this addition to the series was less than amazing. I eagerly await the next chapter of this saga.

AMAZING. Beautiful novel where steal the show

This is easily one of my favorite novels of all time. I really enjoyed the Grace of Kings but was blown away by The Wall of Storms. The characters have a depth and humanity to them that is both inspiring and familiar. The women rule in this sequel where they wield power and influence with bookish ingenuity, confident sexuality, and military prowess. I loved this beautiful novel, we need more of this kind of story telling in the world!

Ken Liu does it again.

I went into this tale worried that it wouldn't live up to grace of kings. I couldn't have been more wrong! I love how we get so much charecter development which makes loosing them a truly emotional moment. the only problem I see with this book is that there isn't a 3rd one ready to go.
